Transbrake??
Since I cant seem to get my vacume brakes to hold on the line I am thinking of installing a T brake and want to know whats involved? I was thinking of the stageright type that Brian sells. Anyone have any input? The trans was built by Vince Janis and has about 500 miles on it with all the billet parts and a PTS D5 so Im sure its tough enough. Just wondered how hard it was to install one? Ive installed a shift kit before but thats it on a trans. Done a few engine rebuilds but a little nervuos about transmissions. Thanks for any input. Also I bought a crappy shifter cable from Autozone that wont let me shift into low so where can I get the right trans cable? Thanks again. Marty

Marty,
I sent you a pm. I have a couple new GM shifter cables as well. The new ones are slightly longer than the originals. Install of the brake is the same as a shift kit. If you did that, you are good. Thanks, Brian

Get it. You'll love it. Your car isn't complete without it. After you have it you'll wonder why you ever waited.

The hardest part is taking off and installing the pan. That is how easy it is! Hope you have upgraded the axles! A brake is hard on factory axles. Some people use factory axles and a brake but having better axles will give you a little piece of mind! Are you running S10 wheel cyclinders and longer shes? That helps also. I run a brake bypass that is controled by a switch in the console. When activated, the fluid bypasses the proportionate valve the when turned off I have normal rear brakes. Twice the holding power on the rear brakes.

I still have the stock axles and driveshaft but better parts throughout the drive line. U joints and Eaton posi and such. After the t brake install I found a vacume leak I thought I had fixed and can hold 10 psi easy on the vacume brakes. Go figure.... I had to get the brake from the guy that built the trans in case I ran into trouble. Paid alot more for it but oh well again. The bibbest pain on the install is all the fluid that runs out after you pull any bolt. Man I hate tranny fluid.
