Newbie 2004R questions
Hi all. Looks like a very good site with ample resources.
I just installed a performance built 2004R in a mid 12s 80 T/A. The problems are, the more throttle I give it the softer the shifts are. Shift points are fine. Also is it normal for it to lock up in 4th gear at only 1000rpm while cruising. Seems low to me. The most irritating thing is when I want to eccelerate from cruise ( locked up in 4th) it likes to hunt even with steady pressure on gas pedal. In order to stop it from doing that, I have to either give it aggressive throttle or very super light throttle. Sorry for the long post and hope you can help me.Thanks! ERIK |

Sounds to me like the TV cable is not properly adjusted or the bracket geometry is off. Here is some reference information for you.

Well I messed with it all day yesterday and the only thing changing is the part throttle shift rpms have gone up. Shift firmness hasnt changed. I talked to the people that built the trans and they dont know what the problem is. Apparently I have it setup right according to the tech I talked to. Could the TV spring be to short?Any other suggestions?
