OG valve body, Junk?

I just bought a 425 olds engine and it had a th2004r attached, so I figure I may as well try and build it up. The trans has the OG valve body, which I read is undesirable. Is it just that this valve body is a poor match for turbo buicks? or is it hopeless behind any engine? (you probably guessed by now that I know nothing about the insides of an auto trans) What can I do to fix it? (I know new valve bodies cost a lot, and theres little hope of finding a better trans here in england). Sorry this isn't really a turbo buick question, but this board seems to be where the expertease lies. Thanks

OG likely came from behind an Olds 307. Therefore you're right; the valvebody is not desirable for performance. Haunt the Monte Carlo boards, this board, other turbobuick boards, watching for a BR, BQ, CQ or CZ valve body and plates for sale. That, with proper servos and governor should give you the platform you're looking for.

OG Is OK

I purchased a TCI Streetfighter 200 4R, it came with a OG valve body. It shifts at 5100 RPM at WOT and part throttle shifts are good and firm.
It is my opinion that any 200 4R valve body can be calibrated to act like a BRF valve body. TCI states that my OG valve body is calibrated to Turbo Buick specs. It certainly acts that way. I am very happy with the TCI Streetfighter transmission and the calibration of the valve body and the governor.

TCI sells valve bodies allready calbrated to BRF specs.
