Need Help on 2/3 shifts

We had a 2004r built buy a local trans shop. He said he could build any 2004 to act like a GN. Over $1300 and it was crap! I called and spoke with Bruce (we4) and he turned me on to Chris K. for a used GN valve body and gov. I sent the vb and gov to Bruce to check out (no offense chris) and pin the gov spring. We also got his shift kit, boosters etc. Another guy installed these parts for us. Bruce was good enough to call him and ask what line pressures were. Bruce said that they were good. However, now 1st will shift around 2000 rpms under normal throttle and
when it shifts into 2nd it immediatly upshifts to 3rd. It will hold and shift gears alright if shifted manually.
Also in case it makes any diff. the original builder put in a Superior Super Servo, without a piston in it, just a steel spacer. and the only electric control on this trans is for the lock up converter.
My son has almost $2000 into this trans on a part time job at NAPA while he goes to college. Should he count his losses and move onto a th350/400 or can someone come up with some ideas?
Thanks for your help
Dan

I will probably have to get him back with you on Monday. I had him under the gun for a few items today and he is out for the rest of the day. Mark

It's hard getting to the top, and even harder to stay there
