I'm looking to replace my front tires that are stock sized. I want to stay that size. I would like to get a good stable tire. It's a street car but I'm anticipating 10s in the future. How high of a speed rating do I need? The choices are sparse as the rating go to H and higher. Any suggestions? Thanks.
For regular radials I know coopers have been used a lot in the past. I just put them on my car. Hook up a lot better than the 10yr old bfg's that were on it.
Not much choice in speed ratings H and above. Tire rack shows a few: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireS...omSizeSearch=&width=215/&ratio=65&diameter=15 Out of the choices available, I would go with the Sumitomo HTR A/S. Had them on a Mustang and they were actually a really nice tire, good price to ($76/ea).
don't worry so much about the speed rating on a tire for drag racing.. you won't be sustaining serious speeds long enough for it to be a problem.. open road racing and track days on a road course would be a different story..
I have mastercraft avenger G/T in 235's. Not sure if they make a smaller stock size but I am very happy with these tires for cheap tires.
