Has anyone used a turbine hsg mount location for the wastegate? Due to space limitations, and extended labor/material costs, I'm interested in trying such... NE good, bad, evil experiences?????????
seems to me back some yrs ,a turbine housing was used with the gate mount on the housing itself!! mount pointed upwards at around a 120* from flange face. from memory, where it was mounted it could bleed off E/P part way from the turbine snail. with a new hsg you could weld to it with new weld tech stuff. but you would ask, i cant quite remember who had it. i have some old turbo books, i will take a look. ron
AIRC, I had a TE60 I got from Jack C. It had the gate pad on the snail. It was blocked off, and used an internal gate. I may try to machine and weld a pad onto a hsg. NE1 have some ideas as to what to use to weld it?? [I have TIG and MIG.]
