Do I have to get this built to match my engine combo or does it adjust to my combo? Is it lu or nl? I'll be running it on the street with a 6262... I hear that lu is better for street.
Builds it for you combo. with that turbo I would recommend a nlu. Call dusty and he will tell you everything you need to know.
I am running that converter with my 6262, you will like it! Probably should invest in a good external cooler for it.
I like it! Don't really miss the lockup at all. I am running just an external cooler with fan on it. Temps seem to be fine, running a temp gauge with it. I am using a manual switch for the fan so I have more control over the fan. Was running the automatic sensor with the fan but felt it was letting the temp get too high before coming on. Eventually will wire it up so I can use either way, just haven't got around to it yet. I am running 3.50 gears with 275/60 15's.
I have the same converter but I had the stator ported for a little more rpm for foot braking.Mine is a DD and I love the NLU.I took it on a road trip drove 1 1/2 hours one way made two dyno pulls and drove back home on less than half of tank of gas. Average speeds were 65 mph. Shaun
the non lock up ptc 9.5 i have is about the same as the lock up converter i had in the car originally rpm wise one the highway. plus it works pretty good on the track too
Dusty, is the man. He nailed my converter on the first shot. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and more importantly, the customer support.
I think I'll post a video of a highway cruise just to show that the slip is minimal. Some don't even believe me when I tell them how little slippage there is.
