Thought I'd bring this back to the top with a few more pix. Mike's still hard at it, plus a couple more GN's in the works. gn A pillar.JPG gn back of door.JPG gn door rear.JPG gn doorfront.JPG

You'll be a good judge, since you've seen how nasty it looked these last few years.

Just one more week to go!

We ought to purchase and cut some lumber for inside the trailer.

Do you mean to raise the drivers side up over the wheel tubs?

Couple of 2x8's each about 12-24" long ought to do it I think.

If you choose to have two separate pieces, one for the front tire and one for the rear, make sure that the lead edge has a long ramp portion, otherwise the tires may push the wood instead of rolling on top.

Also, are you sure 8" will be wide enough? A 255 tire is closer to 10".

I could use one long piece, but not sure how I'd get it there, even in the Excursion. I don't remember if the rear tire is on the flat or still down the beaver tail a little, do you remember?

Also not sure how I can cut a leading edge ramp on them. I sold all my wood working stuff several years ago.

If push comes to shove, I'll just get some masking tape from Mike to protect that edge of the door, and carefully squeeze out.

You bring up a good point, I think that the rear wheels are on the ramp so one piece probably won't work.

We'll get it loaded one way or another.

So what does it cost to get a paint job like this?
