Finally after 25 years of suffering, the 86 is heading to the painter!! I guess my better half must have figured if I got it painted I would no longer be so eager to get rid of it. Got it tucked into the trailer and heading out bright and early for Richard Clarks place to let Mike perform his magic on it!! John (GNX405) and I hope to arrive at Richards sometime tomorrow PM (SAT) Richard, if you're back yet, and read this, I'm also bringing a crankshaft for you to look at. It's ScotW's and he needs advice on what to do with it.
Nice, someday I will get one of mine painted... Keep us up to date with pics! PS, that's my old home in your avatar pic. I miss her!
I know what you mean. I miss all my old ships!!! As for keeping up with pix, not sure I can do that. I live over 5 hours away from Richard's place.
Mike is awesome,he painted mine also, and its still there waiting for Richard to drop the motor back in.
Not sure yet whether I'll be able to put everything together ($$$) to make it this weekend, but if I can't I've got a couple of small pieces of metal I'd like you to take to Mike if I can't make it.
Planing on coming down Wednesday evening through Sunday if everything is fine with Richards schedule..... Need me to bring anything with me?
Did you get to see mine while you were there?Richard has the motor in and getting everything put back together, I hope to pick it up soon.Mike is a AWESOME painter!!!All of those guys down there are really nice people.Richard and Pat are very helpful, and very knowledgeable on these cars.Mike ripped mine apart and painted it piece by piece and had it back together in no time.
I beleive so, but like always there were so many GN's sitting around in various stages of work. I believe yours was up on a lift when I was there.
A couple more. Glassing together the rear filler, and the test fit was good! Oh, Oh, some rust found when the windshield was removed. I didn't think I had any.
