Thanks for posting the pics guys! We're going to fix the few things we bent up when it wheelied and we'll be back out for the race on the 19th. Hope to get it to mile an hour like it should now that we figured out the ignition problem (loose rotor does wonders for phasing!) and get it into the 5.30's and then start chipping away from there.
Even though the new setup was originally a big block and made two races last year... here are pics of the new new setup... 400in alum. sbc sb2 headed w/a 114 precision
right at 3300lb with me in it. We ended up hanging 100lbs in the rear bumper, but it seemed to like it
New setup should be 1600 to 1700 HP
68 Drop Top ....what was your feelings/opinions about running a "Blow thru " on you first set up ?
68 Drop Top ....what was your feelings/opinions about running a "Blow thru " on you first set up ?
We ran a few cars with blow through setups and had very good luck. The big deal is really the fine tuning you can do with stand alone fuel injection vs. blow thru carbs. Tim puts it like this: "A carb is like a two year old, it just can't tell you what's wrong. Fuel injection can tell you what's wrong."

Update. (Since Jason is a Small block guy now:tongue: and can't post here) Jason won this weekends DR race. 5.21 to a 5.14 with a holeshot win! I made a highlight video of Jason's races this weekend. YouTube - JHo 1 Vamp heads up racing KCIR August 7 2010 5.13 @149‎
Car is super clean. It has just about if not perfect tire separation. How did you get the car to 3300 lbs with driver ?
Fiberglass hood, no inner fenders, trz tubular a-arms, wilwood brakes, rack, weld magnum wheels, aluminum block sb2.2 engine, kirkey seats, cut off front of frame horns from in front of a-arms and removed core support (replaced with small diameter chromoly support, cut out center of cross member replaced w/ 1.5'' chromoly tube, took a chop saw to factory stereo and cut off all but about 1'' of the front (saved 4 lbs, but no tunes now!) etc. We're actually racing at a little over 3400lbs now because the 275's seem to like some weight placed over them.
