    this work crap sucks

I've been kickin back for few yrs, and now I have a schedule to watch,
I can see fontana from my house, so I'll meet all you there, (if and when)
Nordy, I guess we;ll have to push em to race huh?? ha ha ha.
I game for Az, or LV, I agree, lets get something concrete!
I'm not in favor of one day in LV, especially sunday, but could do saturday.
Az sounds like a better deal, and a 2 day deal !!!!!
it'll give Nordy some taste of west coast cars, ( or vice versa)
    SO................???

not a problem, I have to many cars now.

and I'm not interested in losing any of them,
besides, I wanna convert you into a west coast guy,
so you'll be saying US west coast guys got bad azz cars!!!!!!
and them east coast guys can only run em in the summer, unless they got
    wrinkle wall snow tires !

I could see attending an event out in PHX as I could combine it with a business trip on Friday. Heck, a lot of my clients based out there would probably come and watch us (especially a few of the cute female ones I know who are into motorsports!) ;)

I plan on trying to make it where ever you guys can get it set up. I'm not too picky. Just want to run the car.

I have to say that I'm not surprised that no one wants to put their neck out to organize a west coast event. Considering the high probability of criticizm they'll receive after the event. Seems the west coast likes to eat their own. Very sad.

I believe that there might be a lot more to it than that, Don. This is just me, but:
Nick did suggest an alternative plan for Phoenix. It is unfortunate, but I think that the old Timers Rod Reunion that now gets the track where the Buicks used to have it brings more money for the track. Nobody wants to organize something that may not happen, or be showing signs of dying on the vine, which appears to be the case. A lot of us go as spectators, me included, and I go primarily just to see everybody that I have not seen for a while, meet some of the newcomers, and see what's new on everybody's cars. I like to see the races as I know that it makes the racers happy, but it is not my primary goal. I simply can not, and will not afford to come up to Vegas just to see the Buicks in ths short hours available now on Sat night, and scat my azz back home the next morning, and fight the traffic all the way back to L.A. What's to organize? This time 2 years ago, the last really good Buick event, this post would have had 25 or 30 sign-ups for racing, and about the same amount at least for spectators. Even thought the racers had to race in the heat as it used to be scheduled, the overall attendance was considerably higher. I hate to say it, but I think that the Las Vegas Nationals for the Buick community is pretty much over with other than for the solid racers. I can't blame anybody for not stepping up to the plate on this. What plate, btw, it's down to the size of a coffee cup saucer by now. Just my $.02 worth, before taxes, too. Good luck where-ever you decide to go & race at. I missed seeing your beautiful car at the Bates Nut farm show this year.

I agree with every word. The question then is, what can be done to increase the interest in our cars?

That's a question for another day and a few more beers. For the meantime, like this year, maybe we need to reconsider Nick Micale's offer to organize/help organize Nov 3, 4, & 5 in Phoenix. Didn't Nick say that he would wine us, dine us, drug us, or mug us? I just don't see Vegas happening this year. I would like to go share fun and see everybody, but i sure won't do it in Vegas for a late Sat afternoon, night , & well, you know the rest. Maybe we need to poll and see how many people would seriously consider Nov 3-Nov 5 in Phoenix. It's not like we gamble anyway. look at the loose women, maybe? but not gamble.

As I have already eluded to, I'm game for anywhere you guys decide. Like the commercial goes, 'please sir, I just wanna ride'.

    Hey, that's what they sang at the bunny ranch, isn't it? J/K. I might try and make it if it happens in Phoenix, but my guess is that there are not enough interested parties to make a quorum, or whatever the heck it is, so I would guess;
1 A few racers will go to Vegas, mostly local racers maybe.
2 The Phoenix crowd probably races mostly every weekend anyway, so they will probably race as usual.
3 most spectators will stay at home this year, unfortunately.
4 And our #'s will just keep dwindling.
This is not a pretty picture.

Just a side note but there actually is gambling available in Phoenix if one desires it...there are Indian Casinos located around/outside the city...one of them is a Harrah's...

Thanks, but no thanks, after organizing a fiasco dyno shoot where 30 people signed up, but only 10 dynoed, I have learned to leave well enough alone. In this case not so well alone. Unfortunately, just like the turbo Buicks are running out of parts, they are also running out of people. Pity.

it will be phoenix this year. we have talked to the track and they put us down for the nov. dates. 3rd, 4th and 5th. (really nice weather then) i will give more detail's as they come. we are talking to hotel's and will let you guy's know asap. the vegas date is still set with the track and everyone is welcome to come and race. but i just dont see it happening with only one sunday of racing with all the same stuff as last year. we only were able to make a few pass's. and a lot of people wont travel for 1 day of racing. phoenix has like 4 or 5 session's of racing in just the few days we are there. (day and night)we will have our own stageing lane's. its a great track with really good people that run it. you wont be dissapointed.
