800-900 rpm. The kickdowns occur at less throttle also. The KC vb/BR governor work really well

    KC Valve Body Donors

From the 2004R chart that used to be on the net.
May have come in more cars, this is what it Shows>>
    KC V-Body came in 86KC, 87KC ------ B/D-Body--307 Y-Eng. w/ 2.73 Ratio
    KT V-Body came in 87KT, 88KT, 89KT, 90KT-------307 Y-Eng. w/2.93 Ratio
    KJ V-Body came in 86KJ, 87KJ, 88KJ, 89KJ, 90KJ-- 307 Y-Eng. w/ 3.08/3.23

KZ & CZ Govs look like they have the same weights.

The KZ Gov I have only has 1 spring on the larger weight with a plastic ring retainer that holds it in place. Is ther supposed to be a spring on the small weight also?? Like the CZ Gov?

KT reportedly works well and id bet KJ does also. I think KZ gov uses a medium weight and one spring not 2 like the CZ.

I have had very similar results with the CR code VB's, they seem to function the same as the KC. Combined with a lightweight governor I got 5800 rpm shifts with no gov or TV limit mods.

with a gn throttle body and rear end the kt and kj shift abit earlier than the kc when i was testing.also neither has good kickdowns above 18 mphour to 1st at wot ,When you adjust the tv cable to make it shift right with minimum throttle ,the wot shifts dont happen unless you back off the gas .governor pressure was 30 psi lower than line at 6000 rpm.i know because I tapped the governor cover and ran a gage out the filler tube when i tested the kt.after that i gave up because it was the og code symptoms all over again.I do have springss for the kc now so they shift at 6000 on the 1/2 just like the 2/3 .

Id bet that the CR info Jake posted was for the 85-87 calibration with the Chevy 305 engine not the 82 VIN Y. It may support a range of gear ratios. Most were 3.08 i believe.

    Yes,
The CR code I used awhile back was an 86 I believe.

Can someone send me a copy of the 200-4R VB chart?

Do all the shifts go up the same rpm? Say if the 1-2 is @ 5800 does the 2-3 go to 5800?
That was one of the problems I had messing with the OG. If I raise the 1-2 300rpm the 2-3 would only gain maybe 200rpm. Then before you know it there was a 500 rpm dif. 1-2, 2-3.
At what speeds do the P/T shifts come in, are they about the same as BR, CQ, CZ VB's?

They are failry consistent the 1-2 is a little later but CK has a spring for the shift valve that will lower it a little. Its way more active on kickdowns than the BR. Its like a CZ but you can get a 2-1 over 20mph. Works out really well for a highly modded TR.
