He didnt bother to ship them until 2 weeks after I payed him for it.In the mean time I looked around at pryer items he had for sale and guess what?!?! in August of this year he was trying to sell 6.65 Child and Albert rods #300-231-02N. no one bought them .Well guess what That what I got. Then I received these yesterday. On the thread he claimed these were Carrillo H beam rods which everybody knew was b.s .... . But swore that they were 6.35 long , which I need for my stroker build. Like everyone im kinda on a budget so I thought I would give it a shot. We agreed on $300.00 for them shipped and the rest is history. Ive made a claim through PAYPAL but hes contesting it saying " that he sent me the 6.35 rods and that I must be playing games and that I wouldnt get my money back unless he got his 6.35 rods back". So on top of everything hes saying im a liar and I switched the rods to 6.65 ,cause theres no way he sent me the 6.650 rods.Well folks here are the rods all measured. I took half the big and little end and add it to the beam measurement and you get 6.650. Which he said he brought them to his "engine builder" to check. I am a master auto tech and had my good friend that is a machinist check my measurements and we came up with the samething. Ive never been taken by someone on this board ,so I guess I was too "trusting". My bad , I'm probably out the money too. So I hope this warns everyone to stay away from this Jerkoff.. Did you ask him if he would take them back since he did tell you they were some thing they are not? Thats pretty much a pay pal rule I thought
I sure did. His response is that he sent me the right rods. That I was doing the old switcheroo trick on him and he wanted the 6.35 rods back. Well how am I supposed to do that? He's a con artist. I think he's banned already . He talked to PayPal long ago saying his story. Sent them all the threads and will have there word the 24th . I hope they do justice
What is the diameter of the small end? What is the width of the big end? I may take these of your hands if the measurements are want I need.
Didn't he admit in the FOR SALE thread that they WERE the other rods eventually? If so, send them that thread.
BuickRat Diameter on the small end is .927 and its a wide journal rod .890. They are really nice rods ! just wrong size for my engine. let me know if your interested. Wh1_T-Type : no he just admitted that they were just Child and Alberts rods no size mention thow.
Well, with that he showed that he misrepresented them as a different brand...should be good to show that they were not as advirtiesed from the get-go, right?
I would agree with that! But I don't know if Paypal will go with it. I already sent them the thread with misrepresented claims and pointed it out. It's really almost like I have to prove he's not telling the truth .
You should call childs and albert and see if they ever sold a 6.35 length rod. It's possible they never sold anything in that exact length. If that's the case it's proof positive he is lying.
Is Child and Albert still in business ? I would think the problem could be that anyone could have gotten any size rods made?i dunno
Paypal finally settled my claim and sided with me so everything turned out ok. Hopefully won't happen again.
