Just got my first SM and installed it today. Except the problem is the it turns off !! It turns on for a split second go's trough the 1st menu and gets to the PL menu and then turns off for good. When i turn it on and hold the left button the number slots just run through the 0-9 numbers nonstop. I checked the connections and all is good. Any ideas or help would be great. Thanks TB.

red 12v switched (use port labeled ign 1-3 on fuse panel)
black ground ( make sure its a good ground like under the 10mm bolt by the courtesy lamp on driverside
that bolt secures the main dash ground and is the best ground point youll find
the white is data feed , connect to the orange aldl wire at the aldl connector under the radio (top left second slot)

if you have a powerlogger you can run the scanmaster off it by first install the SM2.2 chip and then connect the white wire to the powerlogger aux block under pin labeled scm

when you key on it should show what version scanmaster and then shows dashes , if you hit the scroll button on right side you can scroll through and see the values , when you start the car it will go back and now show the o2s and knock retard

    @ Pacecarta,

This is a version 2.2 that came with my powerlogger which i havent had time to install. All connections are good. Its just not getting the data for some reason. Could it be because its a SM 2.2 and NEEDS to RUN with the POWERLOGGER????

Tomm. Im going to install that powerlgger i got with the SM. My question now is does the SM still stay connected via the ALDL in the #2 top row slot ??? Or do i have to hook it up to the powerlogger somewhere ???? Needless to say im a little confused.....Lost in the sauce....
