Was replacing the filter and fliud thought it would be a good idea to install a drain plug. Well marked it off but did not look at the filter, well drilled thye hole and now the bolt in the pan that holds it is hitting the corner of the filter.I can either try to have it welded up and drill new hole, weld or braze the plug in and do away with the inside nut, or buy a used or new pan so what do you guys thing help.

I would have the plug welded in.

chalk it up to the old "measure twice cut once" and find a used stock pan. actually, i have a spare one if you want it cheap. i could even tig a drain bung on it for ya if you want? i put one on mine, it's very handy! :)

I did the same thing you did ( kick self in butt ) . Cleaned area around the hole , roughed it up , cut a small piece of thin sheet metal a little larger than the hole , little bit of JB weld around hole , imbed the metal , little more JB over metal , after it dries use JB on the outside , sand it smooth , paint it and you'r good to go . on drivers side of pan on the deep part near the back is a good place for the drain . doesn't hang down . All that said , welding would be the best option . :D
