Hey guys, Ive been away for a little while. Need to get back to check in more often. I remember a while back...someone had a post on "How to speed up our power window motors." Have any of you guys tried it? I cannot stand how slow they are. Any info or the link to the post would be great. Thanks Coach
Think it was on another "blog", think GN. It was basically a write up on how to bypass something and direct connect something else....dont remember the details...I'll get back to you later on in the week. Think i might have saved that post, sounded like something i wanted to do too....
Look up "free trick" started by Gary1970. I had it saved but with the new board all my saved threads are clumped together. Still in my subscribed threads but I'd have to go through all of them to find it.

i installed a clifford smart windows module. by doing this, the motors become hotwired, one touch up and down, safety stop when windows are in motion, and auto rollup and venting when attached to an alarm
It seemed to me when I connected my LT1 140 amp alternator, my windows went up faster. Not terribly fast but they were not slow either, atleast the driver side wasn't.
http://buickgn.com/windowexpress.htm If you can solder, you can always go this route. Doesn't matter how fast or slow your windows are! Real handy pulling up to toll booths or to get your timeslips at the track. I was just out exercising mine!
Thanks Guys. I knew you would help. I remember reading, a few years back, about speeding them up. I went out to the garage the other day to work on the car and rolled down the windows to make it quicker. By time they were both down...I was out of spare time to do anything. Thanks Coach
That is very fast...when I changed to a good alternator keeping volts over 14 and added a few extra ground straps, my all factory winndows went up and down dramatically better and then you know the rest of the electrical components are fed well too.
Highly recommend the unit from one of great GN vendors http://www.buickgn.com/windowexpress.htm Love it on my GN
Here is the link: http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AEOS&Product_Code=GM19-K Not cheap, but worth it in my eyes. These are counter sprung regulators and therefore put less load on the motors. I have screwed with early G body motors, ground straps, etc and finally just gave up. I never tried the trick mentioned above. Window express is cool and I will do it one day, but I don't think it will speed up the windows. It just keeps you from having to hold the damn switch. Oh, and these regulators are much tighter than the old, worn out ones so my windows don't rattle around and aligning them is sooooo much easier than with the old setup.
Keep in mind that you are doing more than just speeding up your windows. You are also replacing the entire unit with one that is rock solid and does not flop around. Imagine an old worn out pair of scissors that can wobble around. That is your regulator. How was the window speed before Window Express? Did you do the mod to the motors? Are those new motors? That's pretty fast for OEM motors.
I still don't see how Window Express will solve the problem of the windows being slow or how they go up slower than down. That being said I WILL buy these whenever I get around to my interior. My Nissan Titan comes stock with this functionality on both front windows and I hate the fact that my other cars don't do this.
My windows are totally stock, just added the modules. Car has about 34,000 on it now. Speed doesn't matter now with the modules, just click and let go. Of course if your motors are binding up or are just plain worn out the window express won't cure that.
