1979 Buick Regal Sport Coupe Turbo!

    Well Guy's i've been letting her sit since 06. She's a Pure White Sport coupe with all Blue interior with bucket seats and center console. Been hot air since i purchased it back in 05 for 1,5k which i thought was alot since i had to replace the turbo and some other parts. But after i got it running and did some mods took it to the track were it did a 14.7@93mph on 18psi. Then i put some more mods into it like a full manual valve body and up the stall to 4k. Added some 3.73 gears with a Auburn posi unit then a .442 intake .472 exhaust cam and double roller timing set then ported and polish and 3 angled the heads and put MLS cometic gasket's. After that i park'd it and ever touch'd it till now. i've been buying more and more parts and talking with Adam "WarWagon" about blowthru set up. I'll be running my PTE 6152S 61mm turbo off my GSX with a PTE 3 bolt .63a/r turbine housing. A Holley 650cfm Carb modified by Warwagon. Just got a Smokey Yunick Weiand Intake for cheap and might be upping the camshaft too. I'm looking for at least 400RWHP on 91 octane and way more on C-16. I'll post some pics of the Regal how it sits now and new parts when i get some time off my busy job.

    Welcome and Good luck with it.

    That 4k stall is gonna slip like a mofo on the big end unlocked unless you are locking it a WOT (assuming its a L/U). Forced L/U will slowly kill teh trans and convertor unless you have the hard parts/multi disk items to handle it.

    I have seen several cars lose .5 tenths from too much stall. Yeah you launch and its all flashy and spools good but it lays on the slop once the gear multiplication goes away at the top of second and third.

    Hmmm I have a 3200-3600 stall should that be fine? And for the 14.7 run i had my stall and manual valve body. Also brand new T3 stock with some mod's from Gpopshop.com. Open downpipe and Just a Good prep'd track. Sorry no pics as of yet lol i just got some new parts tho. here are some pics of my turbo and the new 4340 Steel Forged rods i just got waiting on some pistons dont know what to go with right now JE,Ross,TRW? And my new Carb hat! I'll get some snap shots of the Regal tomorrow Will be dirty tho been sitting since 06.

    Here's the PTE 6152S on my GSX before the rebuild and the PTE Exhaust Turbine housing in a .63a/r Stage V i still have to order. Or does someone have one here an extra .63a/r Stage V??

    I'm at work again for sometime gots a new baby girl at home to so like i said i don't have pic's of the motor or the car right now till tomorrow sorry got busy today and forgot basicly Sorry guys!

    I still think thats too much stall. Convertor will spool a turbo yes but you need the other end to pull. Id stay with the .63 hot side housing so you can spool easier. Journal or BB center turbo?

    Journal and yes its a Stage V .63a/r already just need to order the Exhaust turbine housing from PTE. hmmm the stall did great on the T3 .63a/r i have on it now in hotair. i think i'll try out the current stall and then i'll decide if i'll up it or not i know i'm going to put a trans cooler this time around.

    No lock up just a standard TH350 with some mod's done to the trans and a custom 10'' Stall.

    I think what i'm going to do is this. I have a perfect TH400 in the shop. I'll rebuild it for this build which i have plenty of time to do since i have No time with my new daughter. So i'll pull the motor and then sell the TH350 and the stall from that transmission, Then rebuild the TH400 for more power and less stall or transbrake it and add a alumium driveshaft to the mix. I'm just throwing around some idea's here tho. :confused:

    A lower stall will help the turbo spool better but if you've decided that this is the path you want to go then I hope it works out for you. Good luck.

    How low would be a good stall for .63a/r Stage V and still handle all the power i'm looking for?

    I'll say it's a Spectre built unit with a 4 inch inlet. And it comes with the black cloth bag that it's sitting on!
