Anyone in DFW area wanna help me dial in my TR?
I'm down in Midlothian TX, about 30 mins south of Dallas. I'm looking for someone with lots of good experience with these cars that would be interested in helping me to get my TR running at it's maximum potential. If you can help, or know someone who can, please let me know. thanks

Just want to get it running as good as possible. Mods are basic bolt ons and include SMC alky kit, powerlogger scan tool, 60 lb injectors, LS-1 MAF with translator, TH 3" DP, rear airbags, magnaflow 2 & 3/4 exhaust, Walbro + Hotwire, 160 T-stat, cone filter.

You can e-mail me a PL file so I can look at it. WOT blast in third gear. I can start to get a feel for what the car is doing.
shrimperdan73@yahoo.com I don't have a whole lot of time on the weekends, but I will see what I can do. Gimmie a good 30 second idle in the file, then a WOT, then a 30 second "warm down". Dan Heck, if you want you can just post a PL file in this thread and everybody can help!

File is too large to post here even zipped. I'll send it your way Dan via e-mail. My O2s were really low this first run, so I assume I don't have the Fuel Pressure up high enough. This is the first time I've run it since the injector install. I'm gonna turn up the fuel pressure and run it again. I'll get a smaller snapshot this time and try to post here.

Here's a couple runs. Hard to get a lot of data b/c of the size limit. The first run I sent u Dan was too large for here. The FP was set around 40 with the hose off ~32 with it on. These 2 files here I have the FP set at around 45. I seem to get KNR each time I go WOT. Anywhere from 0.9 to 2.6. Not sure if it's b/c of the tall timing of the alky chip or what. Don't really see any reason to add more fuel than 45 hose off. Is this too much KNR for 20 lbs boost? I wanna keep the boost at least 20 if at all possible.

Stock turbo, stock intercooler, 9 inch cone filter, engine tie down strap, 60 lb injectors, Walbro 340 w/hotwire, Billet FP regulator (FP at 43-45), SMC alky kit, TT alky chip, turbosmart boost controller (boost at 19-20 psi), Houston 3"DP, Magnaflow 2 and 3/4 dual exhaust, Kirban braces, Billstein shocks, rear airbags, pinion snubber.......I think that's it.........Oh, I had a LS-1 MAF w/translator but it interefered with the alky controller. I hotwired it and that got rid of the interference, but have just switched back to the stock MAF....Can't really tell a difference either way there.

Send an e-mail to Rob Downey who is close to you who may be able to help you out. He also has an Alky setup and knows how to tune a car. His e-mail address is onebadskier@aol.com.
Tell him Danny recommended you to him. He also frequents this board. Dannyo

Whats your timing set to currently at WOT? Try setting it at about 19 degrees and work from there if its higher than that already. BTW, Midlothian is about as close to me as it is to you Danny ![]() Actually Bryan Alberti is there in Venus.

Again, sounds like you need more alky spraying, or turn the spark advance down to 19. How do you adjust the alky volume on that kit?? I'm not familar with the SMC kit. But you could also have a clogged alky line, weak pump...how old is the salky setup? Running pure methanol or is it a iso/water mix? With enough alky spraying, 21-22 degrees spark will work with no knock at 20# boost on stock turbo...no reason to go above 20# boost on a stock turbo, just not much more power going to to come out of it until its all tuned perfectly.
