what exaclly is a stage 2 block?

Can some one give me a 101 on what the stage 2 block is? what is different from the regular buick block?

Basically a Stage 2 Buick is a motor thats almost as strong as a small block Chevy motor.

You beat me to it!! I was going to say that a Stage 2 block is a cast iron, reinforced hole into which you shove lots of money.............

Primarilly to withstand the rigors of the Busch series (in the 80's), and some Indy/Indy lights racing, and they adapt well to drag racing, being able to easilly withstand in excess of 1200HP

Stage motor is expensive but if done right is the ultimate motor for the GNs.
