December 30 Street Legal Drag Racing Series Results

On the eve of New Years Eve, our die hard racers and fans came out to enjoy the action, brave the weather, collect the raffle prizes and try to win some of the cash awards. Our racers enjoyed minimal wait times in the staging lanes and the action on the track was non-stop.
Tonight’s event featured CASH awards for the Smokey Burnout Contest, Fastest on the Property, and the Motorcycle Wheelie Contest.
At the announcement of the burnout contest we only had two cars willing to compete. By the time it was all said and done, we had eight competitors burn the tires off trying to get the cash! The vintage Chevy truck was really cool, one guy in a Camaro had the rear discs glowing like an alien spaceship, a Monte Carlo went on fire underneath and (rumor has it) the red Corvette was a rental!? When the crowd had their say, it was Steven Long winning the contest & collecting the cash!
“Fastest on the Property” went to Phoenix resident, Aaron Beckett in the domestic car category and Aaron Johnson also from Phoenix in the import category. Beckett’s ’69 Nova ran a best of 129.233MPH while Johnson took his ’95 Nissan down the track at a ****ping 105.951MPH!

The Hot Babe Flag Start girls (Rachel and Brittany) were absolute troopers and I can’t thank them enough for the great job! Not only did they flag start the racers for about an hour in the cold, they distributed raffle tickets to our racers & spectators and even helped at tech earlier in the evening!

Taylor Alvidrez was our lone participant for the Motorcycle Wheelie Contest (he’s won the competition before & was ready to take on any/all challengers). As the only “wheelie guy” at the track, Taylor gladly did a stunt exhibition for us & the crowd loved every minute of the show! Taylor is a great guy & we’ll undoubtedly have him and some of his “associates” out to do a stunt show this year!

Thanks to all for coming out, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone & we’ll look forward to seeing you at our next Street Legal Drag Racing Series Event on JANUARY 13!
