Tim: I don't have the addy with me, but if you go to the BGNRA website, it has the form, address, & directions. Yes, they have a raffle, yes, they will have lots of Buicks there, and yes, it will have lots of turbo Buicks there, and yes, it generally has at least 1 real live GNX. Steve Hurst generally raffles off quite a bit of stuff, some very nice stuff, I might add. Control arms, sway bars, just to name a few items. Last year there were maybe about 12 or 15 turbo Buicks, plus other early Buicks. Now are you going?

I'm gald to see alot of guys interested in the car show I except a large turn out and YES we have some really great Raffle items so bring $ and buy lots of Raffle Tickets. Hope to see all you guys at Bates, the best thing to do for direction is go to " Map Quest" on your computer and enter Bates Address which is on the flyer and get your direction that way. Clean up your Turbo and enter it to win a plaque, it could happen! gate open at 8 AM and there is great parking under huge trees for great shade. See everybody Sunday. Well, maybe, but you will be easier to spot as you will be the one with the sister ugly front license plate. With a black & white following you, sirens & lit up like a X-mas tree.

Well this was well worth the 1 hr drive for me. It was nice to hang out with some GN guys and there families and talk GN stuff..... Im sure winning would have been better but still had fun!.... I think we all need to head out to the track one of these days. "Slow Luis" might end up losing his title to me if I end up taking the GN...... "Slow Victor".... doesnt have quite the same ring to it

Overall I had a good time. I'm kinda kicking myself in the ass for not entering the car show but oh well, maybe next year. Congrats to all the winners, lots of beautiful turbo Buicks.
Tate, Tim, Gary, Luis, Victor, Mike...it was great meeting you guys, hope to do another get together soon. The track thing is a great idea. And Tate- hurry up and register on tb.com! Rodney

Congratulations to Gary Wells for his "Best in Show" award.
His white 87 Turbo T just looks better each year. Rod's GNX won (again). His GNX was the only one in the show (again). Still, it's a GN friggin' X!! Someone (and I didn't catch his name) brought a beautifully-built GN down from LA. Had all the go-fast goodies in all the right places. He didn't enter the show, otherwise I'm sure he'd have won something. Lou Czarnota won an award for a gorgeous T he built. He always brings nice examples of his work down. And for like the 7th year in a row I was skunked in the raffle.

Many thanks to Steve Hurst, his wife, & son for having and hosting this event, and thanks to everybody who showed up, whether spectator or participant, for making this show one of the biggest Deere Park and/or Bates Nut Farm show that I have ever attended. I think that we had at least 25 turbo Buicks there, maybe a few more, and quite a few Grand Sports there (thanks to Doug frazure) also. Btw, Victor, (my1stgn) & wife & Rodney, (Jolly460), welcome to the TurboBuick.com site in general and particulary to the Southwestern Section. We're glad to have you onboard. I met a lot of new people at this show, some of whom I will remember their names, and some of whom I won't, just kick me next time if I don't, it was a pleasure meeting everybody and I hope to see everybody again in the future. And many thanks to Tim (Carrddine) & wife & the San Diego turbo Buick clan for showing up very well represented. Thanks to all who voted for me, too, winning both 1st places for t-type-stock & best in show-all Buick really made my day. As they say, every dog has his day, and I guess that was mine. It's good to see Lou back in the thick of things with another quick Brick. And that 2 tone paint '87 Buick, what a paint job. What a pretty car. Congratulations to those that won, and to those that didn't, you guys will in time.
