12.50 Goal

I've always wanted to run 12.50 in street form. Street tires, no open exhaust, pump gas just like you'd drive it around town. Well if you consider alcohol street trim (I drive around with it all day) I did it this past weekend.

60 2.0
1/8 ET 8.0
90 MPH
1/4 ET 12.45
110 MPH
Boost was set at 19 but crept to 21. SMC kit was maxed out, o2 .750 with 2 degrees of knock.

When I was younger I always thought it woud take a big block to run these kinds of numbers, guess I was wrong.

Sam
Maybe my next goal will be 12.50 with 18psi on 93.

Good Job Barnes! Get that 60ft down and you'd be 12.0's easy! Yes I say alky is street trim, everyone on here would agree to it.

As far as the knock, looks like you might want to play with your SMC some. maxing out at 19-21 psi may be flooding a little? what fuel pressure were you at? With that boost creep, you may have a vac leak somewhere.

just need to a add some fuel to that puppy and get that 60 down and you could see some 11's

shoot for 800's with the alky. 750 is a tad lean with alky.

Good job!

But of course I consider mine to be even more "street".

60' 1.8
1/8 ET 8.0
1/8 MPH 87

My boost set to 20.5 NO alky installed, just plain 93 octane pump, Firestone real street tires.

P.S. any idea why you're only able to run that boost with alky on, and still getting knock retard???? You should be able to run well in excess of 20# with alky, and no knock.

How much boost were you running when you ran me ?

cause you ran a

60'----- 2.14

330---- 6.070

1/8 ----8.92 @ 87.19

1000---11.35

1/4 ----13.395 @ 109.70

the reason for me asking is the MPH didn't change much from your 12.45 pass and the 60 ft was .14 better. I see that you gained almost 3 mph in the 1/8 mile on the 12.45 pass . i'm wondering why it didn't gain 3 mph over the entire 1/4 time slip.

ok i have ran some numbers today

on the 12.45 pass @ 110 mph

the last 1/8 you ran a 4.45 back half @ 20 mph

on the pass when you ran me you run a 13.39 @109.70

the last 1/8 mile was 4.47 @ 22.5 mph i guess this was due to the .14 slower 60 ft and allowing the car more time to build up speed ?

so on the 12.45 pass the last 1/8 mile times were very close and you said that you turned up the boost a tad more one the last run.

only thing i can think off is the engine was running lean on the big-end on the faster pass since you turned up the boost.

cause you went from a 8.92 1/8 mile to a 8.07 if i remeber rite when looking at the ticket @ the race track when you showed me. so that a difference of .85 in the 1/8 mile.

now that the 1/8 is rolling out need to see why it's not really picking up on the last 1/8 mile like it did on the first half of the track. if you can understand what i'm talking about.

I never touched the boost for any of my 3 runs. When I ran you the tires spun just a tad right off the line.
Boost was set at 19 but crept to 21 at right around the 1000 mark.

okay that would explain the reason it didn't pick up anything on the backhalf of the track then.
