EGR solenoid test
Should the EGR solenoid hold vacuum with engine off? I'm trying to chase vacuum leaks and tested the EGR solenoid and valve. Valve leaks down slowly when I use my hand pump gauge setup, not too bad but will need to be replaced eventually. EGR solenoid won't hold vacuum at all, key in run position, engine off. Also noticed check valve is bad before EGR, so I guess boost would have gone into EGR solenoid. Are guys just cutting and plugging the line to the solenoid, would this create a code? Thank you in advance for the help, paul
