Front Grill Chrome removal

Besides using elbow grease to remove the chrome from the grill I thought there was a "spray on" remover that would remove chrome but salvage the plastic. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

i used a pair of needle nose plires and started yankin on the chrome, the copper backing will tear off in pieces. it did take 1/2 hour to de chrome the grill, then used sem trim black and then used silver pin stripping paint to fill in the buick word.
