Powerlogger Triggers

Can you set the triggers on the Powerlogger to record automaticly when the TPS goes over a set #, If the triggers are checked in the setup menu does it record on its own or do you still have to hit the f8 and the space bar also ?? I keep forgetting to set up the laptop before running down the track... thanks, ED

Yes, you can "check" and set a value to have the tps trigger recording, something like maybe 4.0 (only a suggestion) your number might be different.

You shouldn't have to worry about f8, that's a keystroke that should be second nature as soon as you have PL running. F8 is for data connection. It's not the actual record feature, but of course you have to have pressed it at some point to "connect".

But remember the MOST BEAUTIFUL part about the PL, is that it has a 20 second buffer in it. With all that above said, and you were still relying on space bar to start recording;
Suppose you forget, but all of a sudden remember after going through the traps. Guess what, if you start recording even way down near the end of the track, you'll still capture the run because there's 20 seconds of previous data in the buffer!!!!
Neat stuff, huh?

That's what makes PL a great tool for capturing intermittent events. Like when I was cruising down the highway, and every once in a while the car would stutter, but scanmaster wouldn't catch it. Even quite a few seconds after the actual event, I could hit record, and capture the event that has already happened!! Found my bad TPS.

you have to be monitoring, otherwise the laptop has no idea what the tps reading is.........

Don't forget to set up the autosave and default filename stuff.
