I am trying to decide whether to get TurboLink or DirectScan for my 86 GN. I am wondering if TurboLink actually records data at some really high rate and only the real-time output once every 1.5 seconds. If TL only captures data every 1.5 seconds, how is it possible to diagnose intermitant problems with it?
For example -- I have a serious knock problem at 32mph per my SM2. Seems to happen most when the transmission downshifts to second. If the KR event only occurs for a second, then how will TL capture it? I need to see if the O2 counts are ramping down or staying constant during that time to verify if I have a lean problem... Can only DS capture that type of data? Thanks, Fred |

Having never used DS. But have been using TL since 98.
I know while I'm driving. I can't look at the numbers. So TL wrks well for me cause when I hit the space bar all is stored. Then I go through it. Wish I did know someone near me with a DS just to see. Anyway TL gives plenty of imformation. Just my opion. Look or ask maybe you can judge. Let me know if you do!
