scanmaster install questions

thanks guys, i have searched but still unclear, how did you hook up to the aldl connector? I do not want to hardwire unless absolutely necessary. directions say use a blade spade connector. well, i have spade connectors but have never heard of a "blade" spade connector. my vision is not good but aren't those male prongs in the aldl connector? do you go in the back? also, i want to work the other connections through my cig lighter with an adaptor. should I change the fuse to a 10 amp or so. Please hurry, I am dying to get this thing hooked up. thanks
