When do I need a transmission shield?

When do i "need" a transmission shield? Still running the 200-R4, car runs in the high 10's. If I need/should have one, where to buy one?
Thanks in advance

10.99 ... you can just get a blanket from Summit or a shield from the "real" Art Carr in Cali

At 10.99 and faster, the 2006 NHRA rules require a trans shield as well as a SFI balacer, c-clip eliminator for axles, and the other "usual" items.

A trans blanket is available a places like Summit.
