(CNN) – Brushing off suggestions Tuesday the media is not critical enough of his administration, President Obama couldn't help but take aim at one cable news channel in particular.

"It's very hard for me to swallow that one," Obama told CNBC when asked whether he thinks the media is too easy on him. "First of all, I've got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration."

The interviewer quickly assumed Obama was referring to Fox News, a suggestion the president didn't disagree with.

"Well, that's a pretty big megaphone," he said. "And you'd be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front."

"We welcome people who are asking us some, you know, tough questions," he continued. "And I think that I've been probably as accessible as any president in the first six months–press conferences, taking questions from reporters, being held accountable, being transparent about what it is that we're trying to do. I think that, actually, the reason that people have been generally positive about what we've tried to do is they feel as if I'm available and willing to answer questions, and we haven't been trying to hide them all. "

Obama struck a similar tone on the matter last month in his appearance before the White House Correspondents Dinner, during which he joked to the crowd, "Most of you covered me; all of you voted for me, apologies to the Fox table."

watch MSNBC- i know everyone says that they are the official PR arm of the White House these days, but most of the people on the network are constantly asking tough questions and even saying when they think the administration has screwed up. even the no name talking heads on during the day have pretty good back and forth debates.
Olberman isn't generally one of the critical voices- nor is Maddow- but Matthews is critical when necessary and Joe Scarborough goes on some pretty good rants when he sees something screwed up.
and, of course, they have Pat Buchanan..

I like it how Obama takes notice that FOX is no joke. Its actually a really good thing that most of what they broadcast goes against his ideas. At least he recognizes that not everyone is ok with his polices. Dont you remember Bush crying about MSNBC? Probably not even though he was constantly (and still) slammed. I've seen enough of CNN's "journalism" that I am not surprised at all that they would publish a story about their Savior busting on Fox.

CNN is a joke. They are biased 100%.
Fox has no choice but to be bias to the conservative-right because everyone else is on the left -- they have an obligation. And even given such, they still will point out positive things that are undeniably unbias.

This is one reason why the internet will probably not go unregulated too much longer in our country... its too easy for people to get the real scoop without having it go through someone's political filter first. use it while you can!

IF OBAMA AND ADMIN wanted to resolve real estate market, then lower interest rates for all borrowers to 4% ven if for 90 days or more, not the first time home buyers with no job and no money down... The president idea -- good cop bad cop theory... I don't believe any news is actually true... it is bias information to promote hidden agenda... lower interest rate for homes, means home construction and trickle down economy... January rates were down to 5.0 and oil up to double, the market sucks...

I want to retire and laugh all the way to the bank to deposit stimilus money in safety deposit box... cash is king... wait if I have cash, doesn't that mean I got it illegally....

You're a fool if you think news on the internet is unbiased. All news is biased. If you think recent times are bad, it's been worst in the past. Frankly I'm glad CNN and MSNBC are around, and Fox is here. I don't want to listen to Dem's bitching and complaining.
