Russia warns of response beyond diplomacy to missile shield in Poland!

Could it be that the NEW cold war has started to heat up the tempers of our Russian friends?

I know what Reagan would do, I wonder what the messiah will do since it sounds like it is now beyond diplomacy? Perhaps he can send in ex U.N. Sec. General Kofi Annin to negotiate with the Russians, the way he did with them for the "Iraq Oil for Food program????"

The neocons and the military industrial complex have happily started the cold war again. Now defense contractors can expect the profits to start rolling in

Well, ya know, it's getting pretty tough for the neocons to paint Muslims as a dangerous enemy these days, so it's time for a new/old bogeyman. Russians fit the bill quite nicely. While Muslims are the enemy of America, they're impotent. Heaven forbid Americans figure that out.

The Russians are counting on the U.S. being tired of war and broke from the War On Terrorism. If you think about it, this would be a perfect time for them to advance their agenda. The Russians are wealthy now and have a new found national pride. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved on all of the previously held countries. Poland and the Ukraine will be next almost a certainty. They are just looking for provocation. You cannot trust them ever. They purchase oil from Iran and are unlikely to stand against them. I see trouble and the beginning of a new, but different cold war. America has little reserve forces to combat them on their turf. Let's face it. They will do whatever they like and there is very little the U.S. or NATO can do about it at this time anyway.

Of course, we can only speculate about Russia's intentions. The US has been rubbing egg in their face for a dozen years. Seems, the US was pretty stupid about the situation. Why didn't they know what Russia could easily do? And like you say, there's nothing we can do, so why get all flustered. The ball is in Russia's court.

why does Poland need a missile shield???? defend itself from Rouge nations like Iraq with its stockpile of wmd

Poland in the past being controlled by Russia for all those years wants to jeopardise their freedom??? all for what Bush-it wants??can u say stupid.

I can see russia taking out the missile shield and then some. The US will leave Poland hanging to dry like Georgia. Ok maybe they`ll send Rice to tell them to "stop it" ....again And then the Georgians would say when u deal with USA you always get the short end of the stick, ask us how we know

Someone mentioned Reagan
Heres what Ronald Reagan would do ...he send our troops over there with no bullets/cease fire order on a peace keeping mission AS soon as 200 of our troops are killed at one time Reagan would withdraw our troops. The strange part about this would be all the chickenhawks would be silent..no defeatist or surrender words being yelled out....strange. Anyways the Georgian and/or polish ppl would rally/fight/protest to the point Russia would be annoyed and leave. And then Reagan would fly in make a speech "Putin your not welcome here " and quickly leave the country. The Germans would say at least that speech was better than the "tear down the wall" speech

I'm not in the mood to argue with you tonight, I'm in a good mood and you would make me lose a good meal, BUT, why not talk about Carter's little military exercise into Iran that completely fell apart within a day of implamenting? The ordeal reached a climax when the United States military attempted a rescue operation, Operation Eagle Claw, on April 24, 1980, which resulted in an aborted mission and the deaths of eight American military men. The crisis ended with the signing of the Algiers Accords in Algeria on January 19, 1981. The hostages were formally released into United States custody the following day, just minutes after the new American president Ronald Reagan was sworn in.

We let Russia survive after the fall. They should still be grateful for what we did for them. IMO we could have went in and crushed them after Regan beat them down....

Putin is an arrogant narcissist whom like many leaders in Russia's past has grandiose dreams of controlling the whole eastern block again... The missile shield in Poland is just a warning and a reminder...

Yes he is dangerous, I bet they are funneling more $ to Iran than anyone. They want our attention over there so they can do what they have been doing for the past few years...

I wish America COULD stay out of every conflict across the globe. I wish we could tend to our own business first. BUT, people must realize there are crazy people all over the world that still want to take over the entire world and freedom will no longer exists anywhere. Americans really need to think about what we have fought for the last 200+yrs. America is the blinking light of freedom in the world. If we don't' fight for it, NO ONE ELSE CAN OR WILL....

the best statement i have ever heard of what our foreign policy should be comes from John Quincy Adams. This speech is an answer to the question of "what has America done for the world?"

Quote:
Let our answer be this: America, with the same voice which spoke h
