Nobama Supports Drilling

Well I guess we knew this was coming, it was only a matter of time before he "repositioned" himself. This guy would sell his own grandmother down the river to get elected, wait a minute, he already did that too.

Obama Shifts to Say He May Back Offshore Drilling - America’s Election HQ

This is my favorite part:

“The Republicans and the oil companies have been really beating the drums on drilling,” Obama said in the Post interview. “And so we don’t want gridlock. We want to get something done.”

The audacity of blame, he is actually trying to pin the fact we haven't been able to drill on Republicans. Gridlock, excuse me isn't the congress controlled by dems?

He's done alot, alot of flip flopping.

Nobama is truly an unbelievable politician. We certainly can't believe anything that comes from his mouth. I think we should just let his actions tell us what we need to know about him.

I agree with him...and it isnt a flip flop. I'm against drilling because everytime there is a hurricane, there is a spill. His point is, just that- thats why he's against it, and if reasonable measures could be taken to prevent spills, he would consider it...so a far, there are none

Obama: no offshore drilling
At a stop in Jacksonville today, Sen. Barack Obama plans to tell reporters that he continues to support the federal ban on off-shore drilling. His Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, said this week he would like to lift the ban and let states decide whether to drill.

“And when I am President, I will keep the moratorium in place and prevent oil companies from drilling off Florida’s coasts,” Obama says. “That’s how we can protect our coasts and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good.”

That's NOT a FLIP FLOP, in what 10 days???!!!!

Goth, your an intellectual, and partisan LIAR!

There were no spills of any consequence due to Hurricane Katrina. Whole platforms got wiped out, yet... no spills.

There are safety devices to prevent that kind of thing... and they work. And there are strict regulations concerning the installation and testing of those devices.

So now why are you against drilling?

You can't tell the libs anything. According to them the whole gulf was contaminated after katrina. Truth is spills or other accidents from hurricanes are very rare.

8's, another example of the pendulum that is his moral compass swinging back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, are you feeling sleepy. It's ok, go to sleep the annointed one will take care of your money and freedom for you.

I wish the goofnut would make up his mind on something. We can't even attack his positions on any issues because he keeps freaking changing them.

Maybe that's his plan to beat McLame. It IS hard to hit a moving target...

17,700 bbls of oil from two category 5 hurricanes is, for all practical matters, NOTHING. By the time it made it to shore it would be dispersed into, literally, droplets.

And any beach in danger of being dirtied up by any of it would have been wiped out by the hurricane anyway.

Good grief, Gothmog, you and your lib friends are worried about a few (and I do mean a few) barrels of oil that might soil a beach after a hurricane. Have you ever seen a beach after a hurricane big enough to damage oil rigs? Some undetectable oil residue is the least of their worries.

Here is the article Goth is referring too

Were There No Oil Spills From Katrina?

Notice even this lib admits "Thankfully, the environmental impacts from these spills appear to be minor."

Obviously goth gets his info from some pretty unreliable sources.

Yes, I have been to a beach just after a hurricane has been through and you are exactly correct Blob. The effects of any spills were far from evident directly after the storm, I am of course speaking of the MS Gulf Coast as I did not attend the pity party in Nola. Even now there are no significant signs of spills, still buying shrimp off the boats

You republicans are pathetic.
first you say there are no spills, then when we prove, by the govts own figures that they do spill oil, your answer is "oh well that's just a little bit, no big deal"

Well we differ on whether the oil spills are or are not a big deal.

The Exxon Valdez dumped over 196,000 brrels of oil on a small portion of Alaska, 1% the size of the Gulf Coast and almost12X the amount you quoted of 17,000 plus barrels.

Check how much SEEPAGE is currently going on in the Santa Barbara area!

Goth, you are and will alsways be, a loser!

Here's some OLD NEWS!

UCSB Press Release: "OIL AND GAS SEEPAGE FROM OCEAN FLOOR REDUCED BY OIL PRODUCTION"

Goth I never said there were no spill at all, only that they are rare. By your own numbers, 17700, you have proved that the worst storms on record in modern history had very little affect on the enviroment because of offshore oil spills.

Shut Up and Drill!!
