so what's the deal, they think he's delivering babies for free to get votes from poor parents? or is it because he is "endorsing" a private hospital instead of a public one by working for free there? Do any of you democrats know why they are objecting to this?

It sounds kind of like what Ron Paul does -- he is also an Ob/Gyn, and he also performs his services for free or for reduced rates when people can't afford them. The reason he does it is because he refuses to accept Medicare payments for people like that. I don't know if Coburn does it for any kind of principled reason like that, or what.

Coburn is my senator here in OK. I like how he stands against wasteful spending (he is the best in the senate about that), but he is also all about the bush admin. police state BS like warrantless wiretapping, realID, and the north american union. He is also a big believer in an interventionist foreign policy. i suppose he is probably the best we can hope for as one of our national reps in this state though.
