why are we importing "smart ppl" from India???

College teachers are passing students who fail exams/poor attendance , because they need to pass a certain percentage of students in order to keep their jobs.

Our education system isn't behind Europe and Asia. At schools where parents have zero involvement in their kid's lives, it is, but that ISN'T the "education systems" fault. At my kids school, he gets to do learn things European and Asia kids could only dream of learning.

I deal with Europeans and Asians daily. They aren't any smarter or harder working than I am and I'm making sure that my son will be smarter and work harder than I do.

As for importing smart people from india, that is one of the results of the Liberals pet program... "Affirmative Action". An Indian is a "minority" like a black or a hispanic, so you get a check in the box AND a guy who is actually smarter than the typical AA hire. My company is full of Indians for this very reason.

I work with some of these people from India and Asia. I do not understand what the buzz is about these people. Some of them, if not most, are not as smart as they are hyped up to be.

here is my experience on the subject.....

i was born in chicago and went to one of the better elementary schools and the top college prep high school in the area. i moved to India and entered medical school there. there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that a 18 yr old who graduated from america is at least 5 yrs behind in education when compared to an 18 yr old who graduated in asia. Schooling is much more intense and education is given top priority. on the other hand ...americans are more well rounded as individuals ...meaning they are socially well developed .

What percentage of asians go to college? 5%?

Obama is acting like it is a constitutional right that everyone in the US gets to go to college.

Obviously it's going to be dumbed down a little for that to happen, to the point that a college degree is a worthless measurement.

blaming liberals/finger pointing is not going solve anything.....its everyones problems. As far as your company being full of ppl from india could be Affirmative Action(i doubt) OR it`s because they couldnt find anyone else capable .

I've seen the "quota" sheets. My wife worked in HR for years and one her jobs was developing "Affirmative Action Plans".

If you don't think EVERY LARGE AMERICAN CORPORATION doesn't have a quota sheet, you are one of those stupid people you are complaining about.

Last time I checked, the colleges were full.

Full of people that are learning the stuff they should have learned in high school.

College doesn't make a kid smart. Parents make a kid smart.

In the rest of the world, College is for smart people to become smarter, not to baby sit a bunch of people that want to "get a better job". That is what trade schools are for.

If that is the case why are we getting more and more immigrants going to our colleges? There are so many assistance programs out there now. Even I was eligible for pell grants during my last two years of undergrad. After that grad school was paid for through an assistanceship program. Techinically I had to work 20 hours a week and could not have another job, but it paid tuition, books and 400 per month. As for the other job stip, they didn't enforce it. I worked at a dept store during grad school. Let's just say proctoring exams for a bunch of kids that didn't want to be there anyway wasn't too difficult.

What really woke me up was that, proctoring exams. The American kids seemed to care less, wouldn't quit cheating, and for the most part were barely passing. All the while the imports were studying their butts off, actually trying to learn something. These were low level management classes and I am quite sure most of the American's ended up dropping out. I don't see how they could have been passing anything else. We had a 75% fail rate and were practically giving the test out the class meeting before it. The best part was I ended up with two athletes in one of the classes. Both went and played professional football, malko will love this, Todd Pinkston and Sherod Giddeon. These two morons couldn't pass gas! The first exam both scored under 30%, that's right under 30. The grading was supposed to be blind, but the classes were small enough that we knew whose test were whose. After consulting with my major professor we dedcided we had to give them another opportunity to pass the test. No other students got that, but they did. We sent the test to the coach and guess what, both passed with B's. This is a mockery of college acamdemics, but what can you do, both represented not only large amounts of alumni support, but also strengthened the overall average wage earned by a graduate from the business program so much that we needed them to pass. Those million dollar signing bonuses really drag up the average income earned for an undergrad business major.

This idea that everyone deserves to go to college is ridiculous. It should be reserved for those that want to be there and want to learn. Down here the solution is real simple, if you don't come from money or don't go to college and gain some viable profession, you end up in the oil/gas fields either in LA, TX or offshore, or you end up on welfare.

Sorry Goth, but the idea that less and less people can afford it is wrong. Maybe they can't afford ivy league educations, but anyone can go to a state land grant these days. There is absolutely no excuse for someone who truly wants to go not to. The goverment will happily take some of my hard earned money and redistribute it to those that "need" it to go to college.

Every one. It isn't like college where the "smart" minorities are treated like whites, while the "dumb" minorities get AA.

In US corporations, A minority is a minority.

I'm going to use "Liberal Logic" to prove why "Minorities" are the reason there are more "stupid people" in the US than 30 years ago.


Liberals tell us the earth is getting warmer because CO2 emissions.

1. The earth is warmer than it was 150 years ago

2. Atmospheric CO2 is higher than it was 150 year ago.

3. in a lab, CO2 is a green house gas and turns solar radiation into heat.

Therefore, CO2 is the cause of the Warming.

Using this train of thought, which is TOTALLY FINE to justify "Global Warming", lets see how it does with "stupid people":

1. People are stupider now than they were 30 years ago

2. There are much more minorities in the US today than there was 30 years ago.

3. In testing, minorities on average do far worse than non minorities

Therefore, minorities are the cause of the rash of stupid people.

Kinda off the entire topic but funny none the less, my wife is Asian, I bust her chops about her annunciation of certain words... like she can say surprise or supplies and they sound the same. Anyway after about 2 years of this she finally hit me with the ultimate comeback... she asks me, what do they call people who speak three languages like me? So I say Bilingual. She says good, what do you call people who speak two languages? I say Bilingual, she says very good. Now what do you call someone who only can speak one language? I think about it, and I'm like I dunno... she says we call those people Americans...
