I am so excited by Barack Obama's new politics. Like Chris Matthews, I got a thrill down my leg when the senator announced his candidacy promising a "new kind of politics." As I recall, he said, "Our leaders in Washington seem incapable of working together in a practical, commonsense way. Politics has become so bitter and partisan, so gummed up by money and influence, that we can't tackle the big problems that demand solutions. And that's what we have to change first." Goosebumps!
You know how most politicians say one thing and do another? Well, Barack is different. He gave Hillary Clinton quite a dressing down during the primaries in the Rust Belt for having once supported NAFTA, a treaty Barack called "devastating." Obama said he'd use the threat of withdrawal from the treaty as a "hammer" to wring concessions out of Canada and Mexico. And sure, his top economics aide told a Canadian consulate official on the QT that Obama's anti-NAFTA rhetoric was "more about political posturing than a clear articulation of policy plans." But that only shows how hard it is for Obama to find aides who are as farseeing and honest as he is. Well, yes, the candidate did acknowledge to Fortune magazine last week that he now views NAFTA more favorably and wouldn't seek to renegotiate its terms. And yes, he did say, "Sometimes during campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated and amplified." But, oh, the way he employs the passive voice! It's not that he pandered to or misled the voters. No, the rhetoric got overheated. Who else, I ask you, can so smoothly deploy the passive voice? Barack Obama is so uplifting. He has said, "We need a president who sees government not as a tool to enrich friends and high-priced lobbyists (note: don't you hate those low priced lobbyists?) but as the defender of fairness and opportunity for every American." Yes, yes, yes. When he released a list of earmarks he had requested over the past three years in the U.S. Senate, he was being open and honest about the favors he has done. Some might say that $740 million is hardly worth mentioning in the context of the huge federal budget. And if $1 million went to the hospital that happens to employ Mrs. Obama, well, that's because she looks incredible in a black-and-white print sundress. ![]() |

I will tell ya what he brings, more lies, deception, and socialism. A failed system, how much did you get back on your tax return this year? This failed system is the hallmark standard for democracies around the world. We are the one shining light for the world to follow. Does our system have problems, well of course. It is, however, the best system in recorded history. The fact is it is the Obama camp who wants to make this election all about race. Why? Real simple if we actually talk about the issues and who he is regardless of skin color, he looses in a landslide. The dems cannot let the election become about any issue but race. BTW how many people voted for Obama simply because he was black? Now go back to watching Lifetime and let the men talk!

This is funny! and yet typical...Playing the racist card is all we are going to hear for the next 4yrs if this dope get's elected! It's sooooo typical of them to jump up and down preaching racisim and he is already doing it in his speaches. So if any white person who doesn't belive in his BS then his supporters are going to pull the racist card.. Now if a colored person doesn't belive in his BS then his supporters won't say sh*t. I'm not racist by any means and I have many colored freinds that I went to school with and have a colored person in my family by marrige and they are fine! But there is one thing for sure and two things for certian that Iv'e seen in the past 40yrs. " WE don't scream racisim while having things like the BET (black entertainment television) < example that solely makes fun of the white folk! WE don't have milion man marches! WE seem to accept them more than they want to accept us! MAYBE IF THEY WOULD FINALLY STOP CRYING "RACISIM" AND JUST CARRY ON WITH LIFE, LIFE JUST MIGHT GET BETTER! Alot of people are just sick and tired of the racisim sh*t. I know it gets old hearing that crap. I just wish people would just give it up and go on with there life AS IT IS NOW! You don't hear it from MEXICANS here in the United States! You don't hear it from the people from INDIA here in the United States! You don't hear it from the INDIANS here in the United States! You don't hear it from the CHINESE here in the United States! You don't hear it from the RUSSIANS here in the United States! You don't hear it from the ITALIANS here in the United States! I could go On & On & On but i'm sure you can get the point! You would think by now we could just get along........??????.... WHEEW! I NEVER get involved in politics and i'm going to get off my soap box now!

Keep in mind that Obama received the following Presidential contributions -- Exelon employees $236,211 (Source: OpenSecrets, The Center for responsive Politics) :note, Exelon employees also gave over $270,000 to Obama's State Senate campaign, total over $500,000.
Mr. Obama scolded Exelon and federal regulators for inaction and introduced a bill to require all plant owners to notify state and local authorities immediately of even small leaks. He has boasted of it on the campaign trail, telling a crowd in Iowa in December (30, 2007) that it was the only nuclear legislation that I've passed. "I just did that last year," he said, to murmurs of approval. But, contrary to Mr. Obama's comments in Iowa, it ultimately died amid parliamentary wrangling in the full Senate. The history of the bill shows Mr. Obama navigating a home-state controversy that pitted two important constituencies against each other and tested his skills as a legislative infighter. On one side were neighbors of several nuclear plants upset that low-level radioactive leaks had gone unreported for years; on the other was Exelon, the country's largest nuclear plant operator and one of Mr. Obama's largest sources of campaign money. IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama told the Iowan's that he PASSED nuclear legislation, "just last year (2007)." IN TRUTH, Mr. Obama LIED, LIED, LIED-his nuclear legislation bill NEVER PASSED!!! This was a KEY Issue that swayed the Iowa Caucus in his favor, as the folks of Iowa were facing similar issues in regards to nuclear power plants, and they mistakenly were "hoodwinked and boondoggled" by a slick Chicago politician, who was willing to tell them anything to get there votes, even lying about his legislative record. Mr. Obama in his 3+ years in the US Senate has sponsored ONLY TWO pieces of legislation that have become law: A bill to promote democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo A bill to name a post office ![]() |

Welcome to the political forum Scot. I couldn't agree more with your comments. As I have stated, the Obama camp will keep the misdirection campaign going as long as they can. It won't stop until every time anyone speaks out against him they are labeled a racist. It is shameful! I can't wait till the debates, what's Obama going to do, just call President McCain a racist on stage when he disagrees with him. It will be very refreshing to see a debate about the issues and his lack of experience.
