When hearing about Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones' offenses that led to his suspension including being arrested six times and being involved in night club altercations:

ANNOUNCER: Defensive back Adams "Pacman" Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys, here's a guy suspended all of 2007, following a shooting in a Vegas nightclub.

IMUS: Well, stuff happens. You're in a nightclub, for God's sake. What do you think is gonna happen in a nightclub. People are drinking, and doing drugs. There are women there and people have guns. So there, go ahead.

ANNOUNCER: Also, he's been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005.

IMUS: What color is he?

ANNOUNCER: He's African American.

IMUS: Ha ha, well there you go, now we know.

LEFT OVER, this incident happened in 1987 and was the talk of the town all over the country. This was before you were born, but read this Wikipedia account to get a good jist of the whole affair!

Examples include the Crown Heights riot of 1991, and a 1995 arson attack on a Jewish Harlem jeweler that resulted in 8 deaths. That attack came months after Sharpton made remarks about the "white interloper". (He later apologized, saying that he wouldn't use the word white again in that context.)

That's for sure. The bottom line is Imus just SAYS what others are FEELING. Is he racist? Probably a little. But arent we all to some degree? Is what he said any different then what many would say in private? Not really.

It's unfortunate that these MOPES are hailed as role models for many young athletes and spend every other weekend in lock up because they act like animals that get $10 million a year who can't spell their own teams name....

I would not say that Imus is too bright tho. He was already dropped once for his racist/sexist comments. But then again I doubt he needs the money.

Thanks for the information. From the second link, I believed everything exept the Drug Bust, so give me a couple of hours researching it. Also, the case with Ms. Brawley is insain. Sharpton had no buisness trying to HANDLE the press of this young ladies situation. Plus, what did he have to defend, the fact that she was caught telling 2 diffrent stories? Let me read more on this and I'll get back with you guys

I don't think Pacman Jones is at a typical black guy. He is probably the STEREOtypical black athlete, which is why Imus said what he said. Jones is a dumb bastard, and probably should be behind bars instead of in a uniform.

They said on the news that Imus regularly talks about how blacks are profiled and jailed more often than others. Donno 'cause I don't listen to Imus, but if thats true, his comment was inline with that rather than him laying the blame directly on Jones.

But the one who brings most of this in this case is Jones, not Imus. I mean, can Don Imus help it if Adam "Pacman" Jones has been arrested 6 times in 3yrs? Nope. Both are rich and COULD stay out of both the spotlight and trouble if they really wanted to..

Blacks commit a statistically higher rate of crime.

9 times out of 10 here in Dallas I don't even have to look up at the TV when the news is on to know that the criminal was a black guy.
