See, and here's the thing... the reason I can't stand Peyton Manning.

If he wins the Super Bowl he'll be "vindicated" and the media will officially anoint him GREATEST QUARTERBACK EVER! because not only has he won the Super Bowl, but defeated Tom Brady as well.

But the fact remains that he will have won one (1) Super Bowl... how many has Brady won?... and Brady had nothing to work with this year.

On second thought, maybe it's not Manning himself that I can't stand but the media's Golden Boy treatment of him. Either way, the fact that the hype surround this SB is going to be NBM (nothing but Manning) sucks.

Where's the puking smilie we used to have?

yeah that guy sucks. I think he was paid off. Like Pittsburgh's O'donnell was when he threw all those INTs in their loss.

Winning superbowls isn't the hallmark of a good or even great quarterback. Marino is easily one of the best and he has a goose egg. Elway didn't win any in his prime either. It was only until they built a team around him that he won back to back.

Brady is a good QB. No doubt about it. Should he be placed in the pantheon of all time QB's, too soon to tell. I wasn't too impressed with his ability to manage the offense once momentum changed. Both this week and last week when things got tight, he got sloppy... something that the greats (Unitas, Montana, Elway) don't do.

All that said, football is and will always be a team sport. One man will help, but won't make the difference.

I would love to see these so-called great quarterbacks of today play when Starr, Tarkington and Staubach were playing! It would be interesting to see how good they really are when they dont have the refs/rules to protect them!

Reche catches the balls...different game.

Superbowl rings are the hallmark.....they aren't the end all be all but they are the most recognized measuring stick. Always have been...always will be.
