Looks like it might be payback for gang harrasment of his wife and children. If it is then more power to him.

Searching though some blogs I found some posts from people at the hospital he works at. Apparently he few weeks ago he came into the hospital beat up. Word is he was harassed by some local gang. The hospital is supposed to be in a rough area. Other's said he was raised in Indiana and has an Italian wife. I'm sure there is much more to story than just him throughing shots at someone riding a bike.
Nothing in the article says this was a terrorist act like the shootings in Seattle.

You actually think its justified to shoot unarmed people on bikes multiple times from your SUV because they are a "gang member" or because you were "beat up" a few weeks before?

Wouldn't the police report have mentioned something like that?

I'm sure he was a nice guy looking out for the best interest of his family (why witnesses lead to his SUV and not him going to the Police).

Maybe he didn't have SJS (Sudden Jihadi Syndrome), and wasn't making a political statement, but damn, when was the last drive-by pediatrician incident?

At this point there is no indication that the bike rider was unarmed or alone. I think you have a right to defend yourself if you think your life is in danger. Don't YOU? This is funny, a righty trying to say shooting someone in a possible self defence situation is wrong.

I don't know too many "Righty's" who would gun someone down and then drive off without calling the police.

That will work in your house, or even your yard in Texas, but a mile from your house, in front of a bunch of witnesses that not only get your license number but describe the clothes you are wearing, the shovelling and the shutting up parts become a little difficult.

Uhhh pronto, blasting someone who beat you up a week or two ago or harrased your familly isn't self defense. Truth is there isn't enough info to draw a conclusion so I don't know how you did. Maybe He just drove up and shot the guy. Maybe the bicyclist did something to cheese off the driver first. Maybe he pointed a gun at the driver. If that kid was alone and unarmed, the driver is screwed. Again, it's all speculation at best.
With that said, him fleeing the scene is going to bite him in the butt in court. Flight=guilt. That's how it's usually viewed in the eyes of the law and worse, a jury.

Of course he could have paniced and run, not an unlikely response of a person that just shoots someone, muck unlike when someone hits someone with a car, panics and leaves the scene.
If this guy's last name was Smith you guys would be all over defending his right to bear arms.

The panic flight defense has failed many a time in court in the most justified of shootings. The law sees fleeing as proof of guilt. Period. The prosecuter will pound that point home.
I have no problem giving the guy his day in court. There was so little info shared in the article I have no idea what happened for sure. So, let the justice system do it's thing.

Lastly, pointing out facts in regard to the story and the use of lethal force isn't racist. Just because you "feel" a certain way but have nothing to back it up with doesn't make us bigots.
