Get rid of Political views section

My momma told me when I was a little boy that you cant argue religion or politics. Whats the point of having this section on Turbobuick.com? Is George Bush or Al Gore gonna solve your knock retard or "no start diagnosis" problem? I dont think so.

I never read this section but after browsing a few threads I think you guys are wasting your time. Please explain to me what you expect to get out of bashing each other. You know as well as I know that NO ONE will change anyones mind about thier political views on the war or the politics involved with it. Why dont ya'll start worrying about making your Buick faster and sharing the positive information of tuning instead of the crap thats going back and forth on every post?

And before you start saying its a free country and freedom of speech...spare me..I get it. I just dont think these boards are the place for it.

Just my cents. Have a nice day.

Talking

LET THE BASHING BEGAIN

I do agree with you though, this board is not the place for it political views/agendas in my eyes. But, it the owners does do away with it, TurboBuick.com might cease to exist

J/K - I know that would not be the case. I would like to hear other opnions, intresting topic.

start a poll to keep it or not. i say it goes. sitting on here to argue political viewpoints is just plain stupid. thats like going on a politcal forum and putting a subforum for "turbo buicks".

I totally agree. I guess the only downside would be people airing this trash in other threads.

Having a dedicated political section keeps the political crap out of the lounge.

I think all drag strips should be eliminated because racing is dangerous and thousands of people die each year in street racing accidents.

Did she also teach you to mind your own business? Mine did.

So are you in favor of getting rid of ALL of the other forums other than Tech as well?

What any of us gets out of this forum is up to us...not you. If you like the Tech section then you're free to enjoy it. What compels you to try and do our thinking for us? I can tell after reading your first post...that this isn't something you should be considering.

Duly noted....now back to Tech and leave us alone.

I have to say...for a forum that nobody likes....I see a lot of first time posters in this thread.

If you don't like the forum what were you doing here to begin with?

Explains it well!

We have been kicking around a mod that would let members choose what forums they see with new posts button. "Working on it"

We did a poll on this very subject sometime ago on T6P.com and what do you think happend... It was a landslide to remove the Political area on that board and it was just forwarded to this board. There are plenty of other forums out there just for the people who are into Politics. Go there and post your issues. You'll never see me in that area because it's a useless area on ANY car based forum IMO. This is a board for turbo Buicks and it don't belong! My .02

Shane do a poll to keep it or remove it and let's see what happens. I'll bet some money on the outcome of that poll!

Funny when I joined here and promised myself to stay out of the Political section. It was hard to stay away with the election going on though.

I'm not in here much. Sometimes I hate coming in here, but I have to say that I have learned alot.

I've learned more about our Government, Current Events, The World in General and most of all how people think and how they are set in the their ways. Including myself.

I feel more confident in everyday settings with the knowledge I gather throughout the day..which includes this forum.

Sometimes we Argue, but mostly its a Debate. It takes knowledge and skill to be able to hold your own in here. Some may think of it as stress relief or a outlet for everyday woes.

If you don't like the TV or Radio station change it. If the Political forum doesn't interest you don't click on it. Feel free to use the other 99% of the site.

Offering your 2 cents when not asked is just as bad as everything you disagree about this forum in the first place.

WOW...I stirred up a real hornets nest!

I guess I'll take my 2 cents back.

If you guys are that passionate about this section who am I to try and change your minds about keeping it? Oh yea....but thats what you do on this section...isnt it? Doesnt work does it?

Case in point...this thread will go on and on about whether it should stay or go and no one is going to sway anyone else's opinion. Enjoy your "debates".

Back to the other 99% part of the site to learn about my Buick.

My last post in this section.

Usually when someone doesn't participate in something I do and then wants it taken away I would tell them to go F*** themselves. Notice how eloquently I stated my position in my last post? You see what I've learned from this section? Kinda like therapy huh?

Shane, Why don't we make the Political section only available to supporting members. That way we can seperate the men from the boys.

My last post in this section.
Who says no opinions get swayed in this forum?

JSA told us how great ethanol was and I told him he was full of it and that coal gasifiaction with carbon sequestration was the future. He got all wacked telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and called me all sorts of names.

Two month later, JSA posts exactly what I told him. Almost verbatim. Like he thought it up all by himself.

This forum keeps the "9/11 was inside job" and "TWA 800 was shot down by a US navy missile" posts out of the forum.

Rather than close the forum, you should thank us.

You're welcome.
