Seems Bush and his admin/Congress/Senate got their hineys handed to them once again. It's nice to see that people like Al Gore and Kerry are FINALLY finding their voices. It was a long time overdue.
Nothing Kerry said I disagreed with. You can call it a joke. I think it stood for much more than that. If anyone thinks that Kerry meant anything negative towards our troops from that comment, then you didn't understand what was meant in the 1st place. Kerrys comment was directed towards the failed policies of Iraq and how Bush & Co. bungled the whole thing. Yeah.... if you don't do well in school and you don't get good grades you too can be in Iraq fighting a war over the lies this administration told to get us in there. I don't or didn't hear the outrage when Bush went to this dinner where he thought it was funny that we didn't find WMD's. Where was the outrage there?? Remember that?? "Well.... there not under here...... there not over there....... Hmmmm.... there not under the carpet". Very funny Mr. Bush. thousands of people have died at the hand of your policy. More Iraqis than what were killed/gassed in the Kurds vs. Iran scurmish in the north. I'll be here after the election to take names of the people that said, "well.... Bush won didn't he?". I'm going to rub it in the face of every Conservaturd that wants to talk about Bushs "mandate". The people will speak loud and clear next week.... and it ain't lookin too good for y'all. |

If they take both houses, I will not post for 2 months and if they don't take both houses, you don't post for 2 months. It's time to put up or shut up.

1) we have an all volunteer force- in small words, that means that nobody's holding a gun to your head to join- it's a choice. College degree or not. 2) The DJIA is trading at near record levels, as is the NASDAQ. Unemployment is down, inflation is in check- now, what's that about the economy? In the dumps? 3) Walmart is a fine example of capitalism at work- plain and simple. Guess what? As an American, the same opportunity is afforded to you to build a business. And yes, Kerry is a fool- even his own party believes that.

I'm not so sure Wal-mart is such a fantastic example of American capitalism. When old Sam Walton was still alive and started majorly expanding, one of his biggest selling points was that he went out of his way to stock his stores with American made goods. Go browse the shelves today and see if that still holds true. I've been a registered Republican for many years but there are still Democrats I like. I'm not a party hardliner. I believe Bush has good intentions but lacks subtlety. The "Shoot em all, let God sort em out" foreign policy isn't working too well. Right now, the only Republican I would vote into the oval office is John McCain. I belive he is one of the few people capable of digging us out of the mess Bush has created without going to the extreme left to do it.

He is a COWARD and is hiding under a rock. Anybody that posts an "apology" on a website is a coward. He had no problem scheduling a press conference to announce he wasn't going to apologize to anyone did he? Cowardness goes back to his Viet Nam days.

How many jobs out there offer a liveable wage??? how many of the employed are living hand to mouth??? Ford letting go 1000`s of workers. There has been at least 5-6 auto dealerships in my area that went out of business.A big pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in my area closed.A few major grocery stores also went out of business. U need to take off those rose colored glasses once in awhile. |

Neither did Kerry. He took his film crew over there and proceeded to injury himself enough times to get sent home. He was ZERO help to the troops that were over there. Then he comes home with his home movies and proceeds to tell everybody how the American military were a bunch of cold blooded torturers and killers. Now he proclaims himself to be a war hero. He is responsible for more American deaths in Viet Nam that Viet Cong deaths. HE IS A LOSER! If he saw any of you libs here on the board he would spit on you. You are beneath this guy in his opinion.

2) Yes, I trade- both stocks and funds. Some of my holdings include GM (bought at 20, currently 34), Ford (Bought at 8, dipped to 6, back at 8 and expected to gain), and a couple of my funds are up 20+% over a 3 year period. Long term, my friend, long term. And, no, I have no oil stocks (but I wish I had the foesight to invest heavily there!) Many jobs offer a livable wage- and many do not. To me, the real question is this: Is the wage offered sufficient to meet basic needs? Basic needs don't include HBO/Cinemax, 6 cars, eating out all the time , or keeping up with the Joneses. It means keep things simple, and live within your means. Business go down all the time- whether it be the steel industry, or retail, or your basic mom and pop store. I'm in insurance, and yes, I have to hustle to make sure I'm thinking 5, 10, 20 steps ahead of the competition. Ain't no room for laziness- work hard, reap the rewards. It's luck by the sweat of the brow, and the desire to suceed. I may get flamed for this, but here's my take on things; While I truly feel for the folks that lost their jobs at your 2 examples (auto dealerships and the drug plant, I won't weep for them. Why? Because those folks have the same opportunity that you and I have to succeed. All they gotta do is pull up their pants, and get to work. My father is a 30 year Marine Corps retiree; after his service, he went to work for Rockwell. Over the course of 23 years, he was laid off 3 times, yet he out of work for less than a week total. He had responsibilities, and he'd do what he had to do to take care of them. A great example. A staunch Democrat. And a patriot to the core. A man who doesn't let the grass gow under his feet. Just like me.
