shortblock for a tta

Well I reckon it is time to get started on getting the tta back on the road... what I need is a good shortblock...I dont plan on doing anything crazy with the car just get her back on the road for my dad..the motor in it doesnt look to be salvagable since the crank is sticking out of the front cover... lemme know what you got..

I have a rebuilt 6109 87 long block, everything still stock and standard. $1750 plus shipping. oil pan to intake, flywheel to water pump.

Probably $100-$200.,if you have a shipping dock somewhere near you where you could pick it up-its usually about 33% cheaper.

You have to be careful what you buy TTA's have different pistons.
If you use a GN shortblock, and the TTA heads your compresion will go up.
Maybe you should look at getting the block crank and rods and then buying pistons and doing a rebuild.

Not aware of the pistons being different on the TTAs-thought only the heads were.?

The TTA piston has a deeper dish to make up for the smaller chambered heads. (10cc's or so.)

the pistons in my shortblock are the correct ones for the 1989 turbo trans am. There is a shipping company near me.....Dave

There is also a fedex freight across the street from me, and changing out the pistons on mine wouldnt be that costly.
