Need an opinion from you South Bend/Elkhart area guys...

What do you think of Buffalo Wild Wings in Mishawaka for a Friday night cruise (meet and greet) during the Midwest Challenge? I was told that this was in a former car dealership and has a huge parking lot. I've not approached them yet - wanted some input from you guys.

Please let me know.....

sweet idea

hey i think that would be sweet. i do remeber there was a car dealership there. the only thing is i think they are busy most of the time. i know that there is a building just down the road from there that used to be Smokey Bones they are no longer open and next to red lobster and hooters is right there and they do have a good size parking lot dont know who to get ahold of on that but someone might. another place is Lowes they have a big parking lot next to the road and they close early just some other ideas just in case. but i am game for anywhere.

Midwest Buick Challenge

Where is everyone staying for this event?
If they are staying in Elkhart than we should have it in Elkhart.
If they are staying in Mishawaka we should have it in Mishawaka.
The less drinking and driving the better!
Is it true that there were no rooms left in Mishawaka?
I heard that most people were staying in Elkhart???
I know both areas well and will come up with some ideas.
There is also a drive in north of Elkhart.
They don't serve alcohol at the drive in though.
I will come up some other ideas this week.
I will get with Tim(UnderdogGN) and Sam Colalillo.
It sounds like it will be a great event.
Keep in touch.
Jason

Midwest Challenge Cruise

Yeah, that's the one.
I haven't been there in years.
It is wide open and has a lot next door I think.
I have been working in Elkhart and will check it out.
It is just down the road from the hotels.
It might make a good spot?
I will get back to Mrs. Turboloyd this week.

I think we are headed to Osceola on Friday(6-20-08).
Tim will be out of town but Sam and I are going.
I will check with Shane and Ryan.
It finally looks like it won't rain???
We are also going to Bunker Hill on Saturday.
Are any of you Michigan guys interested?
Let me know if you guys can make it.
Take Care,
Jason

Hi Jason and Chris - yes, we're in Elkhart this year. There is a post here under racing events about the hotels. It's freshman orientation weekend for N.D. so Mishawaka was booked, and what wasn't booked went up in price.

I've looked at some of the other hotels just for the heck of it in Elkhart and I think a lot of them are now booked, too. If the Ramada pans out like I think it will, we'll probably just make it the host hotel next year and book a bunch more rooms.

The A&W would work - would you mind talking to them for us? Or any other place you recommend? You're right, we don't need to drink and drive. I'm shooting for Friday night for this.

Thanks you guys. I really appreciate this!

Midwest Challenge Cruise

I will run up there one day this week.
I am closer to Elkhart than Chris.
I will be working in Elkhart all week anyway.
I wil see what the Drive in People say.
I will also look around for some other ideas.
Do you have enough rooms booked for the event?
It sounds like it will be a big event!
I will keep in touch.
I will also see you at Bunker Hill.
Take Care.

kewl

hey jason i think that would be kewl if we can get them to ok the A&W stand i dont think they would have a problem. but another idea for hotels is sturgis has a bunch for any of the guys coming from the east. there are the holiday, hampton, super 8, and a few others it is about 30 mins. from elkhart and i could always show everyone how to get there if needed. and oc on friday sounds fun how much is it down there on fri.? and i might go to bunker but i prob. wont take the car. but go to watch.

Osceola

I think it's only $20 or $25 for Friday.
Now it looks like they are calling for rain on Friday???
Just keep an eye on the weather and see what happens.
We just can't win around here.
Why not bring the car to Bunker Hill?
Keep in touch.

So Jason - did you get a chance to stop at the A&W? I'm hoping to tie up the loose ends here soon so that we can get a flier out.

We're still working on sponsors, too......

Wouldn't it be awesome if we had this kind of weather????

Take care,

Shari
