Talking Impala SS down in flames.

Not really a fair race, IMO, but he started it.
I went out last evening to put some gas in the car. I'm cruising up Hooper Ave., and a clean black Imp SS pulls out from the intersection at the light I'm approaching. I roll past him, he's at my rear bumper and blips it to get next to me.
We hit 2 lights, at each of them there are cars either in front of him or me. At the third light, the car in front of me in the right lane heads off onto Old Hooper Ave.. Hehe...
At the light, I see him out of my peripheral vison edging up a bit. I'm watching the cross light. Soon as the light hits yellow, I stomp the brake and boost up to 1-2psi. The 'ole Gray brick tenses up against itself like a sprinter in the blocks...Mr. SS knows it's on.
On the green, the Impy leaves clean (they usually do). I pop off the brake and give it 2/3 throttle to prevent blowing off the DR's. Even 2/3 throttle is enough. The Impy had 1/2 car on me, within a moment, I regained and put him at my rear bumper. A nice shift into 2nd scratches the DR's on the cold pavement with authority and the pull begins. One car, two cars, three cars...the distance quickly building. I hit 3rd, and let out a few seconds later, easily 5-6 cars out on the Impala. I tap the brakes and he blows by me as I slow to pull into Sunoco.
Hehe...I love this thing.

I have to laugh..................These cars are amazing. Why is everyone not fighting to own these cars! Why are these cars still the best kept secret around? Yes, I love my car too!

Its sooooo true Capt. Mark! I had to explain to someone yesterday what a GN was. They were joking about why I put a column lock on this old lady car, saying who would want to steal it.

Thumbs up

I beat another Impala SS about 6 months ago on Hooper Avenue, but a few miles south.
Heck...it might have been the same car.
