Trunk firewall question

Ok since I have the fuelcell in the trunk I know I need a rear firewall if I ever want to run at the track. My problem is with the C1s, the trunk/convertable hatch hinge assmbly is in the way of sealing up the trunk.
See pic 1
What I've come up with is a patch the will cover up the hole the hinge needs to have when the trunk is closed. (all in cardboard so far)
See the rest of the pics.
Ya think it will pass tech? Not that I'll ever run in a national event or anything. Just the local track.
