After Hubbies conversation with Razor we are thinking about trying one of his kits on my set up. Remember I have the old SMC (it has been upgraded a couple times)alky kit but hubby was very impressed with what Razor was saying about his system. I still think for the $$ this is the way to go to get more out of a hot air set up. I'll keep you posted on what we find. I know Razor is going to be busy the next couple of weeks getting married and all, so it might be August before we can get the kit on the car.

Anything that can cool the charge is going to net the best results. I have however ran all my personal best without alcohol and without an issue of knock. However I do run straight 110 at all times. I know that's not realistic for some but with a wide band I don't have to worry about losing my oxygen sensor. (denso do hold up to 110 for a very long time)We have it readily available within 10 miles from home, so it's just what we run.

Wouldn't that be cool?
Like I said hubby was very impressed with the conversation. He called because it would appear our new side job is pulling and fixing GN motors, lol. Anyways the customer wants a razor kit so he can run 93 octane and not worry about detonation. Karl wanted to find out what was involved in the install and of course the conversation went to my hot air set up. Julio is top notch in my book, he not only gave all the specs but was very excited about working with us and very helpful. I have to admit our Buick community has some of the best vendors.

I was out tuning a friend's '86 with the Razor kit and it amazes me every time. Boost was at 24psi on the crappy Cali 91 octane and no knock, not on shifts, no knock at all. Just amazing.

o also when i ran my 11.80's that was one staight C16. that was right off the trailer no tunning. if somone was to ask me whats better intercooler or alky i would say go with both. If i had to choose one i would go with an intercooler. But i wont put and intercooler on mine so i went with alky. the reason i say intercooler is because you will see a good drop in intake charges temps over alky. i have been playing with alky for some time and im not impressed at the temps i see in the intake. now what the alky is doing in the cylinder when its injected is another story.
