Question Turbo Motion or What?

I'm new to these car's. I know some stuff but I have been hearing about Turbo Motion Intercooler kit for 84-85 hot air cas. Well I have a 85 Grand National and I want to have a intercooler. I'm not really worried about how much it cost I'm worried if it's worth the money? What would I wuld have to do to my car for thi kit to run at it's highest potential I heard I would have to get a 86-87 style turbo is that true? What oher part would I need? I'm serious about buying one but what is the best combo to run it on a 85 Grand National? Where can I get at and how much is it? And it worth the money? How boost can it handle?

For the best results, mony not being an issue, you should get the Turbomotion V2 intake with a front mount intercooler, port the heads, atr headers/dp, AT LEAST a TA-54 turbo with a 9" 3500 Stall converter, 50#+ injectors, etc.

Without the ported heads and frontmount (I the IC that comes with the V2), I went 117mph @23psi at 3500ft elevation with a short tire (nitto drag radials, 25.5" tall). thats with having to leave real soft too. With a good launch on a 28" tall tire I think I would of seen 120mph.... I am going to a Stealth-70 turbo, and when I get another job a FM IC. If Dave ever comes through, i'll also have the ported heads on the car. I'm looking for high-mid 10's with good traction and alot of boost...

In street trim with the combo below, the car has run 112mph at 17psi at sea level.... leaving at idle, and rolling into the throttle at about the 330' mark (had stock radials on it at the time)

How about this.................

My dad runs a stock block, homemade headers, homemade 3" dp,ported stock heads, ported stock intake,009 injs, and a homemade alky setup, to the tune of 11.15@121+ mph. I know for a fact that the alky setup is cheaper than an IC setup and they do the same thing. Good Luck.

Yes, but a IC WITH alky would be even better.

Altutude corrected, for Vegas my car ran 122ish.... with stock heads at 23psi. I'm looking for 128-130mph out of my car before i'm done (70 turbo, diffrent IC, heads, maybe a bit more cam too).

Your dad's car is real impressive. He probably had to do lots of tuning to do that though.

My car was bearly tuned. The chip I used was out of my friends car with a totally different combo, but same injectors. I would have gone above 23psi, but the car was going lean on the top end (720mv).

I am going to have the car at the Nationals this year with the 70 turbo, prolly the same IC setup and maybe the DFI. I hope to get a posi in the car before then too, as the peg leg doesnt quite cut it at the track.

Maybe set up a few showdown races
