Angry help!!! 60 foot times

went to the track again friday, got some good runs in, ran consistant 14.7's-14.8's @ 94 mph but my sixty foot times suck, the lowest was a 2.4. this car has more than enough on the top but i'm always playing catch up. i think i could be much faster if this thing wasn't such a slug off the line. i mean i'm leaving with 8lbs of boost but that makes know difference in my 60. i'm running 20psi 2-6* knock w/ jl 93 chip on a ta 49,the rest basically stock except exhaust, lunati 200-200 stainless u/d pipes. how can i get that crisp throttle response because this thing is a slug and with my mods i think i shuold be going a lot faster if i can get this 60 foot down. helpppp!!!

Angry 60" times

Bmaster, I'd not be as concerned w/ the 60' times as the MPH. 94 mph is really very low for the miles/hr. The 60' won't help the mph. Something else is wrong, such as being fat, bad valve springs, knok retard, plugged exhaust, etc.
Do you have any scan data?/ Let's look there first and see what goes w/ those numbers.

where do you run the car??
I'm in Lawrenceville and run at Reynolds sometimes.
If you are available next SAT am, we are having the monthly Atl Buick club meeting at HOOTERS on Jimmy Carter Blvd at 11:30. Stop by and maybe we can help out.

I went 14.3 at 94 with a 1.9 60' on street tires. The time below is with a 2.12 60', same tires.

Something's wrong if you're launching with 8psi and only getting a 2.4. Even when mine was stock, 2psi was a 2.1. Now, even with the lag, if I just stomp it to the floor I pull a 2.3. What does the convertor stall at?

re: 60 foot times

the stall on my convertor is supposed to be 2800 12" lock up, but it is not a name brand, i got it from performance transmission center in la. it feels like it stalls much lower than 2800 though. my problem is this thing is really a slug off the line the throttle response sucks. are all hot are like this.

A hotair will 60' just as well as an IC car but will lose on the big end. What does it actually stall at? Is the tranny slipping in first gear maybe? I can't imagine launching at that boost and only pulling a 2.4 60'. Something's definately wrong with your car.

i pull 1.911 (and more 1.9s) on 235/60 BFG radial T/As with 1-2psi launches..

I also mph'ed 94 on my 14.07 run.. atleast take comfort in the fact you can take 7 tenths off just in your 60ft... i have supposedly a 2600 stall.

home made cold air, atr up pipe, JC chip @ 17psi, and open exhaust..

oh yea.. just fyi... my rear end work is ZERO. The shocks, for all I can tell, are the stock shocks (the fronts are bilstein).. i have no aftermarket control arms, airbags, pinon snubbers, nothing.
