Another Dual Fan Question!! Im Stumped
Im running the RC Dual Fan. Fans are not coming on at all now!! were working fine on my way to work, and then when i left work car started running hot so when i got home, i popped the hood, and sure enough the fans were not on. Heres what i checked.
1. A ground from the battery to the fans harness and fan started spinning right up. So the fans motor is good. 2. theres a switch underneath the throttle body, pulled that and grounded it and fan did not come on, so the switch is good. 3.Tried a new High/Low and Delay Relays and fan still does not come on. 4.Fan will not come on with the AC turned on either. 5. Checked for loose wires around the the fans harness, doesnt seem to be any loose wires. 6. Tried wiggling all wires around the harness and nothing!! What else is there to check?? is there a fusable link somewhere? my buddy at the GM parts told me there is a listing for a wire pack or something like that. Any help would be great, as im sure this is not the first case of us Buick owners that have had this problem. thanks jojo

Pull the plug off of either your low speed or high speed fan relays. Check the terminal with the big red wire.....it should have 12 volts all the time.
If it's dead....you've blow the fusible link. During my testing with the RC dual fans, I've found that when they both start up on high speed they pull over 30 amps. I measured around 33-34 amps for just a second during the initial in-rush of current. They quickly went down to about 17-18 amps when up to speed. With just the RC adapter harness on mine (runs full speed) the wiring to fan was getting very hot. I decided to hook up a 40 amp relay w/ 30 amp slow-blow fuse fed from the back of the alternator thru 10 gauge wire to feed the fans. The stock wiring may not be enough to feed these bad boys on some cars. I didn't want to take a chance, so I hooked up a relay. John

Check the adapter harness that came with the fan I have run across a couple that were made incorrectly and the wires were not crimped inside the connector properly. Are you getting power to the connector on the car side?
