Outside of used ones, I have not seen anything aftermarket other than the idler pulley, itself.

Brian Weaver probably has some used ones.

Are they discontinued from GM now? I took one in and showed it to our welder, and he said that it wouldn't be any big deal to make a new ear and weld it on. Just be sure to also make a new steel sleeve and drill the ear after welding to align it. Each time you take it off the engine make sure that that sleeve isn't stuck. It needs to slide in the aluminum hole or else tightening the mounting stud and nut will put pressure on the ear and crack it.

I thought by now our various junk yard warriors and GM parts interchange people would have a retro that would fit with a little bit of mods. Nothing in the S-10 line works? Any GM parts guys go through the bins to see?

Thanks for the number. I decided to just get the new one since you can get them still. Keep the other one as a spare.

I TIG welded the ear and it worked fine. They seem to weld OK if the aluminum is clean.

Try GM Parts Direct. Their price is $66. Dealer is $116. Only takes a couple of days to get.
