RPM at 70mph

What RPM is your engine turning at 70 MPH with a lock out converter?? What is your rear end gear ratio??

At 60 mph is where the 2000 rpm drone comes on with the stock gears and stock tranny.

So I would guess maybe 2200 - 2400 rpm.

If your car is all stock, meaning converter, rear end and so on you should be turning about 2100 to 2200 rpms.

This is with the converter locked up. Figure 200 rpms higher with a non lock converter.

These are ballpark figures from memory and a bar graph for a tach.

RPM at 70

I'm at exactly 2100 at 70MPH.

Thanks for the replies guys........At 70 I'm turning around 3200 RPM........The guy I bought my car from said it has 4:10 to 1 gears.....and it is pretty peppy off the line (with no boost) so I guess he wasn't lying to me........
