Make sure the car is running well at present. Learn to use a scan tool such as scanmaster to moniter knock and fueling. The car needs proper fueling and a pump upgrade such as a Walbro 340 and hot wire kit is needed to run higher boost without knock (leaning out).

Then the following for the track: Race gas, race chip, sticky tires, posi (G80 code), and 20 lb boost and rear spring airbags (25 lb air passenger, 12 lb driver side). I use Torco 110 fuel, Thrasher 100 chip ($25), and 28x9 MT ET Drags or BFG Drag radials (street setup) on stock T rims. I use 14 lb air in the slicks (no tubes or screws) and 24 lb air in the 235 BFG DRs. Launch (powerbrake) at 2 to 5 lbs boost. Your stock wheel cylinders may not want to hold more that 5 psi.

Very important launch technique I've learned....Build boost, quickly mash the accelerator, then soon after quickly release the brake you are holding down hard with the left foot. This will give you a good 60' time that is key to low ETs.

I am new at drag racing, but this is what has worked for me based on tips I've read on the board. Good luck
